Interaction with Guests
I'm always around as I work from home so chances are I'll be here to show you around - unless I'm traveling the world. In that case just call me if you need anything.
Our neighborhood has been referred to as "Funky Town" by Phoenix Magazine. There are lots of artists who call Coronado home as well as many great restaurants within walking distance. Many people (like us!) keep chickens in their backyard and I've even see a gentleman take his miniature "service" pony for a walk down the street. Welcome to Funky Town.
The nearest bus stop is on 7th Street and is only a 3-4 minute walk away. The closest light-rail station is only a 10-12 minute walk from the guest house.
Other Things to Note
Wow that's a lot of yellow stars.
Try the fresh eggs for breakfast or try the local restaurants. Do NOT eat at McDonalds. The shower is STRONG and you will never feel so clean...so sing in the shower. The toilet flush is strong and loud...don't let it startle you. Travel more and be happy...go on and book the ticket. Pets are ALWAYS welcome.
Enjoy your stay in Phoenix.
Nice place! Cool interior design and artwork. Fridge was stocked w beer, water, OJ, eggs, and yogurt. Coffee maker always a plus. DirectTV -- awesome! Clear instructions printed out, which included a list of close local restaurants. And of course the chickens were a fun element :)
Great, comfortable, and quiet place. Fun neighborhood with excellent dining options. Centrally located to downtown Phoenix (5-10 minute drive). One bedroom guest house that is well decorated and provides all (website hidden) and internet available. Excellent amenities including fire pit and outdoor living space that we were unable to take full advantage due to our conference schedule. We were able to sit on the porch for an afternoon and that was perfect. Great host and would not hesitate to return if in the Phoenix area.
The Coronado Guest House is such a fantastic place to stay! The decor, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to so many things in the Phoenix area make this such a tremendous little nook! Sky and her home were so welcoming and helpful. Loved the tranquility, chickens, cleanliness, and trendiness of the home. Not one complaint!
This was my first Airbnb stay. My host was there and showed me the studio. It was a great little place, had everything I needed in the unit and nice outdoor space. Modest but very thoughtful. Fresh eggs in the fridge from the chickens in the coop behind me. The only down side was I had chosen not to rent a car and it was a long walk to the light rail and grocery store. A few decent restaurants in waking distance, though. The best part was, it was incredibly quiet.
I stayed four days at this location in Phoenix. I was there to photograph an event at the Heard Museum. Sky, the host, met me on my arrival. Sky… is in the wrong business. He should own a bed and breakfast or consult to motel chains. He is an outstanding host and just knows how to make his guests comfortable. The casita is equipped with EVERYTHING one needs for an enjoyable, comfortable stay. The refrigerator was stocked with milk, juice, water, beer and even FRESH eggs… .he has quiet chickens in the back yard..no roosters !!!
Entry and exit are so easy. No keys… the lock is a combination. Easy parking on the street in this quiet neighborhood. It was very convenient to the Heard museum and Phoenix Art museum. There are nice restaurants within walking distance. Starbucks about 1 mile drive…easy. The room has a full bath…soap, shampoo, towels, etc are all provided. Fully equipped kitchen with Krups coffee maker, and cable TV, internet, etc.
The casita has a nice outdoor space with a rocking chair, and patio table and chairs. Very quiet at nite. Felt very safe. I love this old neighborhood.
I would definitely return to Sky's place again.
Very thoughtful person. Always available. He lives with his family right there.
The space is centrally located - close to both downtown and nearby parks (and Phoenix is beautiful, so you will definitely want to visit them!), and only took me ten minutes to get to the airport for my early flight home. Sky greeted me within a few minutes of parking and helped me with my bags and showed me around the guesthouse, which was well stocked. The space was nice and cozy, and I loved spending time in the sun in the hammock.
Our Host was there to great us when we arrived. He was very friendly and helpful. The guest house was perfect and very welcoming, it had everything we needed.

I married my best friend on a beach in Mexico, rode bicycles with the locals on the streets of Beijing, hiked the hill towns of the Cinque Terra in Italy, explored 12th century Cambodian temples, swam with sharks in Bora Bora, been offered a beer on the Great Wall, sat 5 feet from wild orangutans in the Sumatran jungle, found heaven in the Alps of Switzerland, played with baby elephants in Thailand, tried speaking Arabic to shopkeepers in Marrakech, found pura vida in Costa Rica, saw what a wall can do in Berlin, marveled at Eiffel's Tower, experienced Dutch tolerance in Amsterdam, walked the Cliffs of Mohr, hiked Machu Picchu, bobsledded down the Olympic track in Innsbruck, rode a camel on the beach in Abu Dhabi, meandered through the Siq to witness Petra's beauty, and shopped my way through Istanbul's Grand Bazar.
The world is my sandbox.
Can you pass me that little plastic shovel please?
