I'm always around as I work from home so chances are I'll be here to show you around - unless I'm traveling the world. In that case just call me if you need anything.
Our neighborhood has been referred to as "Funky Town" by Phoenix Magazine. There are lots of artists who call Coronado home as well as many great restaurants within walking distance. Many people (like us!) keep chickens in their backyard and I've even see a gentleman take is miniature "service" pony for a walk down the street. Welcome to Funky Town.
The nearest bus stop is on 7th Street and is only a 3-4 minute walk away. The closest light-rail station is only a 10-12 minute walk from the guest house.
Wow that's a lot of pink stars.
Sky accommodated my wife and I on very short notice while we were passing through Phoenix. Communicated very fast and helped us out last minute. The guest house was beautifully set up and very comfy. Loved the chickens!
Sky was a gracious host and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Slept for a straight 10 hours in the bed hadn't done that in years. Loved the fresh eggs and ambiance. Will stay here again
I was looking for a clean, quiet contemporary place and found it with Sky's wonderful guest house. I had the pleasure of meeting the host and he was a very nice hospitable host. The yard and guest house were neat and clean and I loved the decor. The neighborhood is quaint with an artist's flair. Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay.
Exactly as advertised, great home base for exploring Phoenix. A neighbourhood with character and we highly recommend the Main Ingredient Bar a couple of blocks away. Really enjoyed talking travel with Sky......love those fresh eggs. Would recommend Sky's guest house to anyone heading the Phoenix.
I never thought I'd stay at a stranger's home. After meeting Sky, I still hadn't. The minute you meet him, you are warmly greeted by an intelligent and gracious host. The little space is charming; cleverly laid out with just the right touches and all of the conveniences you'll likely need and some things you likely never thought you'd enjoy. Like fresh eggs every day. And by fresh, I mean just hatched!
Well-located and charming, that's Sky's place.
We had a very nice stay in Phoenix. Sky's house is comfortable and pretty. Supermarket is 5 minutes driving away. We cooked dinner in the clean kitchen. It's my first experience at Airbnb, and I love it!
We had an amazing stay at Sky's casita! The location is great - cute historic district of Coronado. The checkin and checkout process is a breeze - Sky was available during my checkin and showed me around. The studio itself is beautifully decorated and spotless - a comfy platform bed, stocked kitchen area, fresh eggs from the chickens on the property, lots of great books and magazines, futon, small tv, wifi, charging station by the bed, bathroom with a GREAT shower (stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer), a jawbone for listening to music, a beautiful patio area with a fire pit and hammock and the location is convenient to the airport. Don't miss dinner at the Tuck Stop and the Astor House, both within walking distance of the house. We are looking forward to staying at Sky's casita on our next trip! He is truly an AirBnB pro!
Cool space, very good experience. Chickens at the door in the morning made me smile.
Thank you for the hospitality, Sky.
Full disclosure: I was so busy and introverted this weekend that I never actually crossed paths with Sky himself, but his place is great and I'd definitely go back. I can't imagine you'd have any luck finding a place with a better location. The guest house has an artist's touch: some neat pallet furniture, a brightness to the space, and a bunch of amenities I should have but did not utilize like the fire pit, the outdoor picnic table, and the mountain bikes. I did cook myself an omelet with some eggs from their chickens on the last day, though.
Some stuff took a few moments to realize: there are privacy curtains mounted on rails that you can slide in front of the double doors, the fan has a remote, and they have some neat-looking device called a Jambox that I'm too technically inept to figure out but it looked pretty cool.
The best thing in the apartment? One of Sky's wax paintings, with a framed magazine article next to it explaining his method and mentality. It's cool, trust me. The second best thing? His laminated little hand-out telling you what to do in the area, which restaurants to eat at and why.
We stayed for three nights while we were in town for the Phoenix Open, but I would have come just to hang out at this chill little bungalow. The place was comfortable and exceptionally well-appointed, the host was super nice, and the yard was a dream come true for a pair of Minnesotans in February. Highlights: hammock, hen-fresh eggs, a few thoughtful treats in the kitchen, the Bluetooth speaker, a pair of bikes to use, and Sky's super-cool original art hanging on one of the walls.
