  • My only regret about the experience was that I didn't get to meet Titus and Natasha, as they were doing some traveling of their own. They'd been super easy to get into contact with about the listing, answering all of my questions as quickly as they could (or their internet would allow). I was eager to meet them, but knew this time around I would not be able to.

But their parents, especially Jim, was super helpful. He showed us how to use the key (tricky but we got the hang of it) how the bed in the living room worked, showed us where the wine was and was very accommodating.

The space was about what we had expected from the ad. Cute neighborhood, close to everything that we would need for our stay in Berkeley. The house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Being able to cook and relax every night made this a very enjoyable trip, something we definitely could not have gotten if we had stayed at a hotel. The ability to go home with clean laundry, thanks to access to the onsite laundry was also AMAZING. The parking was interesting but we worked it out and I've never had more practice at parallel parking than I did this week.

Overall I really do feel like I got what I paid for. I definitely would recommend this location to any of my friends traveling back to Berkeley or first time visitors.

  • It worked out great. As the owners were out of town, the parents of the owners checked in on us and were extremely helpful and hospitable. Perfect location.

  • This place is beautifully located near so many places we love to walk to in the "Gourmet Ghetto". I loved that it has a full kitchen, although dishwasher in the pictures "sadly has never worked". The spaces could really use a deep cleaning and small things needed to be fixed. Small window was broken, some furniture was broken, light bulbs needed to be replaced. Owner gave us one phone number that did not take messages and she did not return texts. With a little care, the place could be amazing.

  • Natasha is very responsive to even any minor request. The house is very cozy and convenient. And most of all the location is one of best in Berkeley. But, keep in mind that it is one bedroom house.
If you are over 3 people, the couch is not fit for good sleep.

  • At an amazing, safe location - 5 to 10 mins walk to supermarkets, 15 mins walk to the Downtown Berkeley BART station, and there are loads of wonderful cafes and eateries along the streets. Around a 20-25 mins walk to UC Berkeley, so it is definitely a good option for us students!

The place is as pictured, with coin-free laundry, free wifi and comfortable bedding for 4.

Natasha is a very friendly host, she is prompt in her replies and drops by to help us whenever (e.g. when the lightbulb blew). She even called in the plumber to fix the toilet.

We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

  • Natasha has a wonderful apartment. My family came to visit for graduation and they enjoyed very much their stay in her unit. She responded very promptly to any issue with the apartment, and went out of her way to fix them. I highly recommend this unit

  • We had a wonderful stay at Natasha's place in Berkeley. The location is fabulous-- just blocks away from Cheeseboard Pizza, several great coffee shops, our favorite Thai restaurant in Berkeley.... I could go on.
The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and Natasha was very easy to communicate with for keys and logistics.

  • My huspand, I and our 7 months old son spent 2 months at the Gourmet Ghetto Flat and enjoyed our stay a lot. The location of the flat is unbeatable: walking distance to everywhere what you need (University, Safeway, Andronico's, Thursday Farmers market, all restaurants, BART station, busses, parks for children). The flat is very family frienly since you have coin free loundry room, bath tub and only 8 strais to the street. Natasha and her mother are very kind and easygoing people. We would recommend this flat witout reservations to anyone.

  • Perfect spot for Tgiving stay, a home away from home to bring us together from CA, Iowa, and PA for a wonderful 8 day visit. With Safeway newly remodeled and SO close and of course the gourmet ghetto also nearby, everything needed is at hand without need for a car. Lovely home made us feel like, for a moment, we lived in beautiful Berkeley.
