Located right at the end of the famous Freedom Trail, this fabulous one bedroom garden apartment with pull-out queen sofabed is just steps from the Bunker Hill Monument. Excellent and convenient location to explore Boston. Very private, quiet, and clean. With private entry, small yard - great for the summer months! - and laundry located in the unit. NEW! Just added a cable TV (July 2013)
Charlestown is a well-established, historic, and beautiful gas-light district with Victorian red-brick rowhouses and parks. Walking distance to a number of local restaurants, but also to the North End and the Navy Yard - a decommissioned navy yard now home to an active district filled with the USS Constitution ( i.e. Old Ironsides), several museums, residences, parks, restaurants, and million dollar views of downtown Boston! A ferry ($3) runs directly from the Navy Yard to the Aquarium and other sights downtown including Quincy Market, the Greenway Parks, TD Banknorth Garden, and museums nearby in Fort Point (ICA and Children's museum).
A range of public transit options are available: ferry, bus, subway, and bike share. Or you can simply walk most places! Better yet, parking in Charlestown on the weekend does not require a permit. During the week, several parking garages are located a 5-10 minute walk away (charging anywhere from $12-$21 depending on the duration).
This place is ideal for business travelers looking for a convenient place to stay while working downtown or in Kendall Square, couples, or families with younger children who are looking for laundry and a small outdoor space.
Absolutely no smoking or pets. Please note that the sleeping accommodations include one real bed and one pullout sofabed.
Kitchen basics (salt, sugar, olive oil, etc.) will be provided, but guests are expected to do their own grocery shopping. Recycling and disposal of waste at the end of the stay is also asked.
At the end of the visit, we kindly ask that you strip the bed and place the sheets in the hamper next to the washer and dryer. Thank you!
Corey's apartment was exactly as described. It was a very nice place to call home for a few days while in town for the Frozen Four. The neighborhood was safe, and a walkable distance to many restaurants, bars, grocery, and the TD Garden across the bridge.
Corey made us feel very welcome! She gave us plenty of privacy, but at the same time was extremely responsive during our stay.
I highly recommend this spot for weekend explorers of the Boston area.
For two adult couples (all four of us in our early thirties) visiting Boston for a few days, we were very pleased with our stay in Corey’s downstairs/basement apartment.
Corey’s home is located in a beautiful and very safe neighborhood in Charlestown (bordering the Bunker Hill Monument), which is a convenient 20-minute walk to and from Boston’s North End neighborhood, and a 15-minute drive from Boston Logan airport.
We did not spend much time in the apartment, except to sleep and eat breakfast, and Corey’s apartment was absolutely perfect for that. Both the bed and the pullout sofa were extremely comfortable, and each of us had very restful nights’ sleep. The apartment was very clean and tidy; because the apartment was located at the street level we did not have to climb any stairs, and we were able to comfortably store our large pieces of luggage.
Corey was also very kind and responsive, and even brought down homemade breakfast treats one morning ☺
I never actually met Corey but she was incredibly responsive and helpful. She checked in with me multiple times to make sure my stay was going OK, and even left me homemade banana muffins. I would definitely stay here again if I take another trip to Boston.
We had a great stay at Corey's downstairs apartment during our Boston visit. She was very responsive before and during our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable for three adults and a one year old.
We walked through the charming neighborhood a couple of times-- once to cross the river and head into the North End (it was 15-20 mins to the T stop) and a delicious dinner at Figs (less than 10 mins and within Charlestown). Being close to the tall Bunker Hill monument made it relatively easy to find our way home given that our cell phone batteries did not last long in the cold.
Awesome ! Todo estuvo fantástico es limpio y perfecto para explorar la ciudad andando , incluso tuvo el detalle de obsequiarnos con unas muffins para el desayuno.
We had a great time at Corey's place in Charlestown. She provided us with all the information needed ahead of time and was very welcoming on our arrival. The apartment itself is very comfortable and in a great location to go out and explore. Very highly recommended!
The Charlestown location was beautiful and our apartment was conveniently located within walking distance to the Hop-On Hop-Off tour bus at USS Constitution, the local shops (where there was a fabulous food store called Whole Foods), and even within walking distance to Downtown Boston City.
We enjoyed the convenience of being able to do our laundry and to have meals at home if we wished, but found the apartment a little stuffy and overheated. We felt that the apartment would benefit from some de-cluttering (to make the space appear bigger) as it looked in the photos. It would also be a good idea to check the status of the provided toiletries between each new booking, as we were left with an empty bottle of body wash.
More attention to detail in cleaning would have been appreciated - the toaster oven was full of crumbs, we found some medication under the bed and we some underwear caught up in our doona cover. The linen was of poor quality and didn't reflect the description in the listing. The shower was a bit problematic as we had to climb over the spa bath wall to get into it, not an easy task for us shorties!
Despite these hiccup we enjoyed our stay and found Corey helpful, friendly and attentive.
