Silver Lake/Los Feliz studio, yard!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Manzanita Street, Los Angeles, CA 90027, United States

Cute & cozy studio at the hilly south end of Los Feliz. Walk to Silver Lake's great Sunset Junction, with cafes, restaurants, and vintage shops.

The Space

We're convenient to Los Feliz's best shopping and dining and an easy bus or car trip to Hollywood, Griffith Park, Dodger Stadium.

Located behind my Spanish duplex, this studio has no shared walls on three sides, so it feels like a separate structure, private and quiet. There's a small kitchen w/stove, fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Good AC & wall heater. The space accommodates one or two people, and has good closet space as well as a small dresser. Enjoy coffee and a book in the lovely two-level overgrown yard.

There's a middle school across the street, but school noise is minimal, since my house is set back from the street and the studio is behind. Most guests find they do not even notice any noise. The studio is accessible by stairs and a small walkway alongside my house.

Interaction with Guests

I live on the property and I usually plan to be home to greet guests. If I can't be there or you're running late, no problem! I'll arrange to leave keys for you, and I'm always reachable by phone.

The Neighborhood

We're four blocks from Sunset Junction, where you'll find great boutiques and a farmer's market on Tuesday and Saturday. A five-minute drive takes you to great Los Feliz and Silver Lake eateries. Convenient to Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Yummy (a market that delivers) and major supermarkets.

Getting around

The studio is in a residential area but just three blocks from bus lines and a 12-minute walk to the Metro station. For a morning stroll, go up the block to the winding, lovely residential streets. Walk to the landmark Vista Theater, Los Feliz's classic old Hollywood theater, which screens new releases.
There's usually plenty of street parking, except it's a little tight on street cleaning days. These are Wednesdays 8 to 10 am, opposite side, and Fridays 8 to 10 am, this side.

Please note: Pets are not allowed. Maximum occupancy is 2. Guests need to have reviews and/or references on Airbnb profiles and verified ID. Thank you for understanding.

  • Quiet, secluded hideaway convenient to Hollywood. We enjoyed our stay.

  • What a great place and a great host!

Carolyn was amazing with helping with every single one of our requests, she was quick and helpful with her responses. The apartment was great and provided all the basic needs and was a tiny walk away from all sorts of bus stops so we could get around LA without a car! Fruit and water was provided upon arrival, Carolyn is so generous and caring, we will definitely be staying here again if we return back to La!

  • This was a cute and affordable place to stay in LA. Carolyn was super easy to communicate with and very friendly. The backyard is GORGEOUS...definitely take advantage of the complimentary coffee and beautiful terraces. For those with light sensitivity, the room was on the dark side, which we didn't mind because we weren't there much. There's also a school across the street, so you might get woken up early by the sound of children's voices...not a big deal if you're an early riser, but could be troublesome if you have a late night and want to sleep in.

  • What a delight to come back to Carolyn's charming and quiet cottage. The location is wonderful, close to everything but very private. Carolyn, the host, is available if you need her. The lovely garden is an added bonus . This place has all you will need for a great stay in one of the coolest neighborhood in LA.

  • Carolyn AND the studio were both delightful! The directions were so clear and Carolyn thoughtfully sent pictures beforehand to make sure we knew how to get to the back of the building where the studio is. She was there to meet us to let us in and show us around. The studio was clean and perfect for our one night stay while visiting friends in Silver Lake. And the garden is SO delightful! Next time we'd love to stay longer!

  • Great studio apartment. Perfect for two. Carolyn was gracious enough to leave coffee makings with real half and half and a basket of fruit for our stay. Very quiet neighborhood and comfortable bed. Was perfect for our weekend getaway.

  • Carolyn is a great host and my girlfriend and I highly recommend her and her studio. From booking to pre-check in and throughout our stay, she was very helpful and paid great attention to all the details. Her studio is stocked with all the necessities, is tidy, and is the perfect fit for two people. We also enjoyed meeting her friendly dog.

Do not hesitate to book this studio!

  • Comfortable cozy studio with very pleasant back patio. I enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee each morning surrounded by the beautiful greenery. Carolyn was a gracious host. We would definitely recommend staying here if you need a place in LA!

  • We had a great experience at this studio. We stayed for five days and would rent this again. It has a small kitchenette, a table, a bed, a closet, a bathroom with a shower stall, and that is about it. What else do you need? Carolyn had some bottles of water chilling in the fridge, some soap and shampoo in the bathroom, and some fresh fruit on the table. We felt everything was clean and ready for our stay. The yard is great, although it rained almost our whole trip so we didn't get to enjoy it as we should have. Overall I definitely recommend you stay here. Only minor reason for me to whine was the size of the TV, but it did have cable and we only watched it late at night, so not really an issue.
