This is a pretty safe and nice area of the city. Strolling around the colorful neighborhood is a pleasure as well. The house is located in the middle of glen park, mission and bernal height. Walking distance to many unique shops and restaurants.
The village of Glen Park is a thriving neighborhood, with great neighborhood restaurants like NYTimes reviewed Gialina pizzeria, Manzoni (Italian), Le P'tit Laurent (French Bistro w/3 course neighborhood menu), La Corneta taqueria, Chenery Park fine dining, Higher Grounds creperie, and Tyger's neighborhood coffee shop. The Cheese Boutique, Destination Bakery, and Canyon Market have all your other food needs covered!
Bird'n'Beckett bookstore carries new and used titles and has live jazz/folk on weekends. Coffee spots abound, with not a chain in sight. Stay in Glen Park and support hyperlocal merchants as prep for your day exploring this great city.
SF is a relatively small city, you can get to most tourist attraction sites via public transportation within an hour. You can take muni line 14L or 14 (3 mins walking distance to the Richland bus stop) along Mission street to downtown or the Embarcadero; line 49 to the civic center or the marina district; line 43 to Golden Gate Park; line 23 to the SF Zoo, or Ocean Beach, or hop on the Bart at the Glen Park Bart station which is 10 minute walking distance, and connects you to the San Francisco international airport (about 25 minutes ride) and the east bay like Berkeley, Oakland, etc.
We can provide a car to drop off by the SFO at a reasonable price $30 ( for most of the time depending our schedule)
Other Things to Note
** Please before inquiring/booking, we kindly ask that you fill out your profile/verifications with a picture **
The room is available if you can book it through airbnb site. This is a family home, so there will be some noise. My husband works from home half the time. I work a late hour shift so I stayed up pretty late at night but We will keep the noise down if you sleep early. You might see my mom during the weekends.
Checking in late is not a problem for us at all. This is a no pet or smoking place. Smoking has to be taken outside of the house. Street parking is free but it could be difficult to find a parking spot after 6pm.
We have a German Shepherd Dog which is very friendly after being introduced. He is mostly outdoors or in the garage, though. We also have
a newborn baby in the house, only a few months old, so you may hear some crying sometimes. We have a German shepherd dog, who stays mostly the garage or outside. He barks once a while but mostly stay quiet.
Please keep the premise clean. no shoe policy: please leave street shoes at the foyer; i provide slippers. No pets. No smoking in the house.
Leslie and Gio have been very nice and helpful to get around the city. They even have cooked a nice meal for me!
The room was very clean and as advertise, and the private bathroom was definitely a plus.
Local bus stops are less than 2 minutes walk to get in you in the city in no time, that being said the room's window is behind the house and is very quiet thanks to their garden.
Great location to visit San Fran and the surroundings. Very close to the Glen Park BART (10 minutes to Embarcadero). Nice places to eat in the area as well. Also easy access from SFO (direct BART to Glen Park).
Direct buses to Alamo Square and so on.
Good room and en-suite. Did not see Leslie and Gio much during our 5 day stay but they are lovely and helpful people.
Leslie was very accomodating and welcoming upon our arrival at the house. The room was splendid with lots of space and fully stocked with small amenities that made it feel like home. Overall, we were out of the house most of the day and didn't interact with the family too much, but everyone I met was friendly and hospitable.
Leslie foi super gentil e cooperativa. O quarto eh bastante cinfortavel e o banheiro eh otimo.
Very good stay! We feel like home in the amazing san francisco! Higly recomended! Hoping come back soon! Thank you!
hi, we enjoy travailing and meeting new people. We both stay up pretty late at night; i work mostly in the evenings and my husband works from home during the day half the week. When we have the time, we like to go out and rediscover the exciting city life of San Francisco. We are very social and we do AirBnB also to meet people, make new friends, and if time allows, we are happy to show you around the City--or at least give you tips, advise, and answer any questions. My husband loves to host on Couch Surfing so he has a lot of experience hosting travelers, and showing them areas of the City where locals like to go.
