We came to Cawsand/kingsand for a wedding weekend. We had the most wonderful stay at mewstone view garden apartment. Jill was a fantastic host and it even turned out that she went to college with my friend (who was also staying with us at Mewstone!). The accommodation was so comfortable and quiet, with beautiful linen provided. After a long journey we were greeted by Jill and had tea coffee and tea biscuits at our disposal. A wonderful experience and a beautiful location. The sea views from the master bedroom and kitchen were an added luxury x would definitely stay at Jills again. Thank you!
Fantastic place in a beautiful and tranquil location yet only a stones throw from everything that Cawsand/Kingsand has on offer!
Very spacious and homely place with a great garden for children. Will definitely return when we next get the opportunity!
What a delightful property! I stayed here for five nights with my Mother and three children aged 8 11 and 14 and we simply didnt want to leave. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and so interesting for the children to explore. Jill and Clive were terrific - they were so gracious and helpful and really wanted us to have a lovely time. They have a beautiful property which I personally want to thank them for opening up to others to enjoy. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped and is on the ground floor with separate entry. Beautiful linens and lovely comfortable beds. The property is so close to the Village and there is a great cafe right at the gate that sells the best lattes! The Village and beachfront is drenched in history and is so interesting - and for more surf its a five minute drive and a relaxing walk down a cliff to Tregonhawke Beach where my kids did a surfing lesson. (gentle waves nothing to ambitious)..I cant recommend this place more highly - I simply wish that I lived in England so I could come more back often. Thank you Jill and Clive this was a highlight for us!
The garden apartment was such a perfect for the 5 of us. The apartment was
lovely, great linens, and as advertised. The garden was a highlight just
to sit in and wander through. Jill and her husband were quite delightful and helpful. The location was amazing, just walk down the garden path right into the village. Found a lovely pub or two and the cliff walk, and view was really great.
Jill was very friendly and helpful. Communication was excellent and we had a great stay.
The apartment was well catered, very clean and provided with nice linen and towels. The location is excellent with great views of Kingsand's clock tower and the sea beyond.
I am very happy to recommend Mewstone.
The Mewstone View garden apartment on the ground floor of quite an impressive mansion was a welcome sight after two weeks on the road. We stayed there for five nights in October and very much enjoyed the extraordinary spaciousness. There were only two of us, but the main bedroom and lounge area were both huge and comfortable, and there was also a second bedroom, a well-appointed kitchen and bathroom and a laundry. It was a great place to relax in, or return to after a day of driving around the countryside. The only downside was that the very thick walls in the apartment prevented ready access to wi-fi and mobile phone coverage within the confines of the apartment, but by opening an internal door to a small common room, access to both could easily be obtained from there.
Cawsand and Kingsand are quaint adjoining villages, small but just the tonic for a quiet coastal break in Cornwall. There is a very nice cafe (Moran's) and several pubs, of which we felt The Devonport to be the pick. There was a real sense of civic pride in the presentation of both villages.
The apartment can also be used as a base for visiting other parts of Devon and Cornwall. There are many places to choose from, both near such as Seaton, or further away such as Fowey or even Boscastle (via the fascinating Bodmin Moor).
Jill and Clive were great hosts and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend it to others.

We had such a great time in Jill's apartment - and garden! Beautiful house, amazing garden, private BBQ and so close to the villages of cawsand and kingsand. We'd love to return. We would also highly recommend breakfast at the deli at the end of the garden!!
