room available in a 2 rooms and 1 living room flat. the room is quite spacious, fully equipped with nice and new furniture. the view is amazing: galata tower, historical peninsula and the city from above.
the flat is located in a very nice street of cihangir, the bohemian part of the old city. even though it is quite close to the center -5min walk to istiklal street and taksim square- the area is quiet, safe and nice with lots of cafes, restaurants and bars around. plus i have lovely neighbors. it is also very close to famous firuzaga kahvesi and the cihangir park. Tophane art walk, the art scene of Istanbul is also nearby.
there is natural gas heating and hot water, no need to say.
well, i am a 33 years old fashion designer but studying sculpture in mimar sinan fine arts university at the moment. sharing the room with my boyfriend, a jazz musician and the owner of the cutest jazz cafe in taksim. he is also very neat and tidy.
jaro, the cat is the other member of the house. 7 years old nice lady who likes to talk too much but is quite a humanist.
we all would be ready to help you feel (website hidden).you will have your own mini garden with strawberries, tomatoes, basil and mint in the balcony :)

It was such a nice staying...The room indeed is very cosy with delicate interior. Great spot to visit some vintage, second hand cloth and vinyl shop around, also close to main transport station and you walk all the way down from right side of the front door is the ferry station. Iris kindly share some food and the info of art biennale in istanbul which is an event i think i'm lucky to meet. That makes me feel alive of this city!! many thanks and come to Asia let me treat you some weird food!!!
I had a short stay in Istanbul but Iris was a very hospitable and friendly person. Nice and clean room.
It was perfect month in a nice room with wonderful flatmates! This flat became my real Home in the whole meaning of this word! Everything was great thanks to Iris and princess Jaro) I really loved this cat and my room) Hope to come back in winter, cause better place for my stay I can't imagine) These nice evenings...sitting with lovely cat in front of the open window-balcony, watching Galata tower, doing Turkish hometask...wanna come back immediatly! :D
I couldn't have asked for a better roommate experience for my month-long stay in Istanbul! Iris was incredibly sweet, thoughtful, fun, and laid-back. She treated me to a few relaxing, home-cooked meals along the way, helped me figure out what things meant at the grocery store, and kindly answered many of the silly tourist questions I had. She welcomed me with a trip for cay to our local cafe my first night and later introduced me to Cafe Miranni, a fantastic jazz bar in the area. Her darling, affectionate cat, Jaro, helped me avoid missing my own dog too much in the interim. Her apartment is cozy but colorful and clean-- a truly delightful place to live. My bedroom even had a balcony with a view of the Galata Tower, which more than made up for the walk up the stairs to her flat!
I would have been disappointed if I'd lived anywhere else except her neighborhood, bohemian Cihangir. There we tons of curious vintage shops, quick eats, cozy coffee shops, and basic needs (grocery stores, post offices, etc.) in the area. Plus, it's only a 10-minute walk from Taksim Square, the major transit hub, and from Istiklal, one of the major boulevards in downtown Istanbul. Not touristy at all, either-- very eclectic, welcoming, and safe.
Staying with Iris was a really perfect way to be introduced to Istanbul. I met so many lovely people through her and got to know a neighborhood that I might not have realized existed otherwise (tour books don't even mention it!!). I highly recommend her place to anyone who's looking for a pleasant, friendly stay in Istanbul.
