The Space

Our tropical home is located on a sunny hillside overlooking Jimbaran beach. The villa has a Balinese thatched roof , private pool, an outdoor living area, fully-equipped kitchen and 3 spacious bedrooms, each with their private bathrooms. We like to think of it as comfortable with a touch of luxury.

Guests are just a short stroll to the beach and our neighborhood is right up the street from the Four Seasons resort. The neighborhood is safe and picturesque, most of the properties are vacation properties and villas. You'll pass by some really adventurous tropical landscaping and architecture on the way to the beach.

Jimbaran beach is a fine 8km stretch of golden yellow sand that goes all the way to the airport. Our beach community is famous for the fresh seafood BBQ. At dinner time, tables pop up all over the sand as seaside restaurants prepare fresh fish, shrimp and lobster for guests. All at pretty affordable prices.

Our area is a nice mix of authentic Balinese village life with comfortable/stylish modern amenities. There's traditional village markets, temple ceremonies and a large seafood market right on the beach. It's home to three large luxury hotels including the Four Seasons, Intercontinental, and Ayana. Shopping and dining are easy, there's a boutique mall within walking distance with fashion boutiques, restaurants, and massage. We're located about 15 mins from Kuta and 20 min to Seminyak.

Our villa is perfect for guests looking for a homey space with ample privacy and a location close to the beach. Add to that with a dash of Balinese culture and the snazzy goodness of expat living, you've got a holiday worth writing home about.

  • From the first email to the drive out, nothing but positive for our experience. This place was beautiful in its view and warm and relaxing in its accommodations and staff. The amenities were what's expected and the pool is unexpectedly awesome. The restaurant was great and the pancakes are in another league. The area was convenient and quick by motorbike or driver to all the surf breaks and various activities with plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. I will be coming back. Thanks again to the awesome staff.

  • Amazing! We had such a good time at the Uluwatu Cottages. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food from the restaurant was great and the view was awesome. Ideal location... Close to Padang Padang and Uluwatu, nice ocean breeze on the cliff. They really took care of every little detail from the driver to the scooter rentals, I couldn't ask for anything more. We're already planning our next trip back!

  • Wayana is a great host, she make sure that she could see me, at my first day she didn't catch me up in Villa because I went in Jimbaran but she left letter about places need to visit and the other day she went there early morning to catch me up, and she brought me in nearest beach which is Padang Padang with her motorcycle, She also told me best restaurant around the area, I really enjoyed places that she told me to visit specially Jimbaran and apartment is nice too they clean it everyday and great view and quiet. If I have chance to go back in Bali I am definitely come back in this place..:-)

  • Jing and Wayana were such amazing hosts and their property was terrific. I spent my last week ( of a 3 week trip) at their uluwatu cottages and was so relaxed the entire time. It's an ultra secluded collection of bungalows over looking the south side of Padang Padang. As a surfer it's location was great and a quick scooter ride to either uluwatu, impossibles, Padang Padang or more.

Jing and wayan and took me sightseeing for the day up to Changgu to see the Deus Ex Machina compound which was a highlight for me. Jang, having gone to school in Berkeley (my home town area) and I had some great talks about life, career etc.

All in all amazing stay, it's worth noting their cottages are super clean, quiet and they have great internet connectivity for Bali as well.

Stephen, it was a pleasure for us to catch up with another great guest from my hometown. Wayana and I enjoyed your company and openness to try new things. We look forward to your next trip to Bali and perhaps you can even show me a few things about surfing. Cheers!

  • Wayana was a great host - very communicative, empathetic of our needs, and offered lots of local insight and recommendations for around the area. The villas were very peaceful and quiet. At first, the location seemed too remote, but transportation was easy to organize via taxis. Highly recommended if you're looking for a respite away from the other busy areas of the island.

  • Great villa with friendly staff. Shared pool is typically uncrowded. A little out of the way, but peaceful and close to some lovely beaches and interesting places. Recommended.

  • This villa is amazing! It is actually what the photos displayed. Beautiful, comfortable, luxury. We have wonderful and impressive five nights here. There is a banana tree with banana in the yard! All I want to do is just sitting beside the swimming pool and watching the sky and the sea. Wayana gave us a warm welcome. She is very nice. She answered all of our questions with patience. The restaurants she recommended are delicious. The servants are very kind and quiet. The only one disadvantage is the location. restaurants and shops are out of walking distance. But you can ask free pickup and drop off service from a restaurant nearby. You can also call the restaurant delivery food to the villa. These information is written detailed on the guide. 3 minutes walk down to the beach. Morning view on the beach is better than evening. But you can't see sun rise and down from the villa because of the location. Never forget to wash the cups and bowls before you use them. There are lots of ants. I will recommend this villa to my friends.

  • Our stay at The Brothers Villas was quite pleasant. The room was spacious and cleaned daily, the pool was handy for a quick dip after a hot day out and about. Breakfast is not included when booking through airbnb so I can't comment on the food. Staff on site was a mixed bag..some very nice and helpful, other a bit less so.
Uluwatu area is great for surfing and the villas are very close to Padang Padang beach, a lot of coffee shops and a few decent restaurants.

  • Wayana is a very hospitable person and shares great ideas on how you can best experience Uluwatu. The experience at the Uluwatu cottages was just as expected: relaxed, away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta, beautiful view of the ocean and sunset! However, one thing I didn't understand was the difference in prices on the airbnb site and the ones quoted on the reception - an almost 20 dollar difference per night is quite a bit. Wonder why.

About
Bali-fornia: Jing is from California and Wayana is from Bali. Our family loves travel, our island, and our doors are open to fun-loving travelers. JING: Hi there. I work at Airbnb now as a market manager for Indonesia and I might not be around as much to see my guests. My wife and daughter will most likely be hosting you. Like a proper kid, I studied hard and got myself into Berkeley. Horrah! I chose to study engineering. Yup I'm a nerd. A nerd that play capoeira, rents villas, organizes big parties and loves to live life to the fullest. I worked in a nuclear physics lab, wrote C++ code, and then I took off to travel the world for a year. I meandered across Asia and Latin America. When I came to Bali, I stopped traveling but didn't go home. Bali was my new home. I met the perfect girl, she was Balinese and very pretty. I took her to dinner and missed my flight. I ended up staying on the island. WAYANA: Jing and I have been married for 6 years and we have a young daughter Eka. Just ask and we'll be happy to take you to see hidden beaches, underground parties and off-the-beaten path things to see/do in Bali. We hope you'll share a few interesting tid-bits about yourselves as well. Our family is warm, friendly and down to earth. We've lived overseas and know the little things like personal recommendations and what's happening culturally that can make a visit so much more enjoyable.
