Sea view and bijou villa with a bespoke interior design. Perfect spot for a wonderful family holiday on the Italian coast. Large garden, infinity edge pool, sweeping sea views, maid service included. Ample space for everyone to come together and enjoy the stunning views of the sea from one of the many terraces. Explore the Southern Italy at its finest and enjoy the natural beauties of the Cilento National Park. Just further South than the busy and overcrowded Amalfi Coast.

The space
Overlooking the horizon from Villa Le Cannicelle it seems you could literally fly over the sea. The villa is perched on the highest point of Villammare, almost directly above the beach. As you enter the front gate you are utterly rewarded with magnificent views of the coast of Southern Italy. During the clearest sunny days the blustery island of Stromboli could also peek out on the horizon, and from this natural terrace there is nearly half of Italy opening to your eyes.

The villa is a modern, three-storey villa built in a traditional style, set 124 feet above sea level with stunning views stretching for miles along the coast.
It is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style and each level is self-contained making it ideal for larger groups. Outside there is ample space for everyone to come together and enjoy the stunning sea views from one of the many terraces, lounge in the shade of a huge Mediterranean oak tree, soak up the sun around the pool, or enjoy a meal on the rustic "taverna" dining terrace.

The entire accommodation has light, bright and airy atmospheres and is furnished in original and elegant taste. It is the ideal solution for family and friends holidays at the beach in Italy. It gives opportunities to share holiday time with your loved ones as well as keeping your own privacy when needed.

It is directly managed by the owners with great care and positioned on a dominant panoramic hillside facing the sea, just 600 meters from "Villammare" long sandy beach. The villa commands a spectacular Mediterranean vista - views stretching down to the farthest mountains of the Calabria region on one side and as far as the Punta Infreschi and the wild coastal stretch bearing the same name between Scario and Marina di Camerota on the other side. Two thirds of the estate is covered with lush woodland and cork oak, a plant typical of the environmental niche stretching along the coastline of the Bay of Policastro between Santa Marina and Sapri. Surrounded by a big enclosed garden, it is the perfect accommodation for families with children.

The villa is extremely spacious and well equipped with many terraces where to relax, sipping a glass of wine, and soak in the views before dining together on the wonderful covered "taverna" terrace with its traditional Italian style wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue. A little piece of paradise for families and friends wishing to escape their busy city lives and experiencing the authentic Italian "dolce vita" and a truly memorable villa holiday at the beach.

The "marina" of Villammare is less than 1 mile therefore you could go there walking but car is recommended because the last part of the road to the villa is steep (that's the reason why the villa has such enjoyable views!). Villammare is lively at summer and there are bars, chalets, and shops. It is not a place spoiled by massive tourism and you will find a friendly athmosphere all around and an autentic glimpse of Italy. Restaurants in the surroundings as well as "trattorie" and "pizzerie" offer very good fish, seafood and delicious local cuisine.

Moreover the Villa is in the "National Park of Cilento" (UNESCO world heritage site) therefore you could have lots of excursions in evocative natural and historical place, whether to the mountains or to the sea.
Private skippered boat can be arranged on request for tours to Sapri, Palinuro, Porto Infreschi, Acquafredda, Scario or Maratea beaches where you can watch the sunset or visit some of the many natural sea caves with their mesmerizing, colorful reflections. These are holiday memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Don't miss the opportunity to attend one or more cooking classes with the famous local chef Maria Rina. She is an old-school chef operating at her restaurant just 10 minutes driving from the villa. Prior arrangements you could also consider having her at the villa for your classes.

For those who like studying languages at the poolside, Italian classes at the villa are also possible prior arrangements with local teacher.

Daily tours to Napoli, Pompei, Herculaneum, Matera are highly recommended. During summer months you could also reach the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento and the island of Capri by hydrofoil from Sapri harbour – the perfect way to enjoy a day or two on the Amalfi coast without staying in the tourist hustle and bustle!

Where you’ll be

Villammare , Campania, Italy

Cilento, the southernmost area of Campania, has been included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List. In almost one hundred kilometers of coast there are cliffs overlooking the sea, golden beaches, wild and unspoilt landscapes, and large bays with fully equipped beach clubs. Cilento can boast some of the most beautiful seaside spots of Campania such as Palinuro, Scario, Ascea, Ogliastro, Paestum, Villammare and Camerota, all part of the Cilento National Park. An ancient cultural land that has long been identified as the cradle of the Mediterranean.

In recent years, scientists from all over the world - you may have heard about the American biologist and nutritionist Ancel Keys - have been drawn to Cilento and Acciaroli to try to understand the secret of healthy aging, which means the area is on its way to qualifying as a scientifically confirmed blue zone, alongside the Japanese island of Okinawa, the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, Ogliastra in eastern Sardinia and the Greek island of Ikaria. As in the other blue zones, there is hardly just one reason why so many people are over 100 years old. For a long life a combination of healthy food, physical activity, stable social networks and a sense of meaning in life are all needed.
Inspired by the nutritional values and cuisine of countries around the Mediterranean Sea, the "Mediterranean Diet", recently named as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, was born in Cilento.

In this fantastic land have been left the marks of the great history, indeed Cilento is universally renowed as the "Land of the Myth" because in the past it hosted important settlements of the Romans, Lucans and Greek. Today inside this limitless territory there are two imperious statements of antiquity: the archeological areas of Paestum and Velia, splendours from the classical period.

The awe of history here is slightly stunning. It was here that the founder of Rome, Aeneas, is said to have made shore first in western Italy after the battle of Troy, and it is also said to be here along the coast that the sirens called on Odysseus with their songs. Whether it is the food, the herbs or the genes is yet to be completely determined, but one thing is for sure, there is certainly lust for life here.

Me and my sister Antonietta own this spectacular villa in Villammare. Following a huge passion for hospitality, some years ago at this family jewel we decided to open the doors to the international quality tourism. Since 2005 travellers from all over the world have chosen Villa Le Cannicelle as location for their family and friends holiday at the beach in Italy. Many of them are keep gathering to the villa along the years for their family reunions. Their children feel like home and, when summer arrives, they can't wait to jump again into our beautiful sea view infinity swimming pool. We saw them growing up along the years and some of them can now even speak a bit of Italian. What a great joy for us!
As property owners, what we care most is hospitality and our dedication to an excellent service in our role. If you are planning a charming family reunion in Italy please don't hesitate to contact us. As our guests like to say: "The 'dolce vita' is here!".
