About This Listing
We are located in the hills above downtown San Rafael (5 minutes away). We're 30 minutes from San Francisco, and less than 45 minutes from Napa and Sonoma. We look forward to meeting you!
PET OWNERS: PLEASE SEE OUR PET POLICY, BELOW.
This cozy studio is completely remodeled and beautiful (in our humble opinion)! It's about 430 square feet and adjoins the house but has its own entrance.
We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby. The road to our house is narrow and winds around a bit, but it's only 1/3 of a mile from Lincoln Avenue, one of the main streets running through San Rafael.
Full bathroom with bathtub & shower
Kitchenette with stove, refrigerator and microwave
32" flat-screen TV with premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.)
Wireless internet access
Plenty of street parking, which is a short walk to the front door (no steps)
We provide all linens, towels, and soap. Guests staying 7 days or more may use our washer and dryer.
San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 30-minute drive to Napa, San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, and about 20 minutes to the beach and Muir Woods. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College, and the Terrapin Crossroads, a great new music venue owned by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead.
We love hosting people and can guarantee you'll feel comfortable and well cared for. We have an elderly dachshund who mostly stays in the house and a small standard poodle who is very sweet and friendly. Looking forward to meeting you soon!
PET POLICY: SORRY, NO CATS. WE CHARGE $10.00 PER NIGHT FOR YOUR DOG; WHEN YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION, PLEASE INCLUDE HIM/HER AS AN EXTRA PERSON. FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU ARE A COUPLE AND HAVE A DOG, YOU WOULD MAKE THE RESERVATION FOR THREE PEOPLE. WE DO NOT WANT PETS TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE STUDIO. THANK YOU!
The only real rule is that smoking isn't allowed on the premises. Other than that, we would appreciate that guests be aware that we are living upstairs and to keep noise to a minimum in the evening.
Jessica and Stacey have created a lovely and quiet retreat in the hills of San Rafael. The studio is generous in size with a full bathroom, kitchenette and walk-in closet. Plenty of space for us and our dog. Location is great with Hwy 101 nearby and downtown San Rafael just a few blocks away (plenty of food, shops). Jessica was a great host, totally available to answer any questions (in person or by text). We found yogurts, fruit, milk for coffee, and a few other cupboard items to make the morning easy. The kitchen is fully equipped with cups, glasses, flatware, pots/pans...whatever you'd need.
We loved walking the dog around the neighborhood and up to the top of the hill. Mornings were lovely, surrounded by trees and the sun coming through the window over the bed. A very pleasant way to wake up. Be aware that the studio is under the home where the hosts live so you can hear footsteps and other normal noise, including their sweet poodle howling a bit when left alone. Not loud at all, just normal sounds of life.
My husband and I spent three nights at this nice, quiet retreat. It was a welcome respite from a traditional hotel. The room was spacious with a cute little kitchen area and a comfortable bed. Despite being such a short distance from central San Rafael, it felt very private and quiet.
We arrived somewhat late in the evening, but Jessica was there to meet us and orient us to the room. After that, we were left alone. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
Jessica is a very polite and thorough hostess. Their space is spacious and very nicely appointed with everything one would need for those stay. So far it's my favorite space on airbnb; I always sleep amazingly well when I stay!
I stayed at Jessica and Stacey's studio apartment for five days, and I couldn't have picked a better place. The studio was spacious, clean, and cozy and the location was great, just a few minutes north of downtown San Rafael. Jessica made sure I had everything I needed when I got there and was available in case anything came up (nothing did!). The neighborhood was quiet -- I was working nights, so had to sleep in the morning/early afternoon, and had no problem getting rest. I will definitely be back!
Jessica and Stacey have created a cozy, private enclave where you can feel comfortable and relax.
My wife and I had plenty of room and access to our own kitchen to cook our meals.
Everything we wanted was within a short drive. And we had access to great hiking trails within a 30 minute drive.
They were there to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed. After that, they gave us our space and privacy.
I highly recommend this place.
Thank you, Jessica and Stacey.
