Description

The space

This cozy studio is about 420 square feet and adjoins the house but has its own entrance.

We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby. Please note: The road to our house is narrow and winds around a bit, but it's only 1/3 of a mile from Lincoln Avenue, one of the main streets running through San Rafael. Downtown San Rafael is about a 15 minute walk.

Amenities include:

Queen bed
Full bathroom with bathtub & shower
Kitchenette with apartment-sized stove, refrigerator and microwave
32" flat-screen TV with premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.)
Wireless internet access
Plenty of street parking, which is a short walk to the front door (no steps)

We provide all linens, towels, and soap. Guests staying 7 days or more may use our washer and dryer.

San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 20-minute drive to San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, Muir Woods, and about 45 minutes to Sonoma and Napa. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College, and the Terrapin Crossroads, a great music venue owned by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead.

We love hosting people and can guarantee you'll feel comfortable and well cared for. We have a small standard poodle who is very sweet and friendly. Looking forward to meeting you soon!

PET POLICY: SORRY, NO CATS. WE CHARGE $20.00 PER NIGHT FOR YOUR DOG; WHEN YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION, PLEASE MAKE THE RESERVATION FOR THREE PEOPLE. WE DO NOT WANT PETS TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE STUDIO. THANK YOU!

Pet Policy: Sorry, no cats. We charge $20.00 per night for your dog; when you make the reservation, please include him/her as an extra person (which, in a sense they are!). Also, we do not want pets to be left unattended in the studio. Thank you!

Jessica and Stacey made my stay with them wonderful. They are a wo!fearful couple who possess an elegant balance of timing, communication. Insight and helpfulness. One of the commenters described difficulty navigating the route to their place. I totally understand what they spoke about but could not disagree more.I drive a diesel 4×4 long bed with a large commercial utility shell. I am equipped for extreme off road abilities, including massive ranch bumpers and a giant grill guard. I look like an armored personnel carrier. I experienced no difficulties enjoying safe and easy navigation and parking at their place. Make no mistake, the roads are narrow, lots of curves and people parking on the side of the road. Unless one is driving straight off the end of your hood no problems will be encountered. I had much greater difficulty navigating the urban streets in San Rafael. This place is close to everything! I had no problems getting to SF, the parks, shopping and night life. I was pretty much in total culture shock after spending the past year in extreme!and remote areas. I'd never experienced California before. Both Jessica and Stacey were easy to like and speak with about anything. I even extended my stay just because of them. As mentioned, they provide some basic, but essential items. The oatmeal, coffee, apples, shampoo and linens all helped. The TV works well, but I never watched it. I also arrived very late. It wasn't a problem. You can easily co!e and go here as if you had a private residence. I did not entertain any guests, but it wouldn't be a problem. Unless you are neanderthal and pink about your personal noise nobody would notice. Hell, I want to go back just to visit them. My little dog loved it here. They impacted my. Life beautifully and wonderfully. If you have problems with them then I believe you need to simply belly up and go stay at a hotel. Really. You can't be more gracious and appropriate than these two people.

Great place to stay in the Bay Area with parking. There were lots of amenities and nice touches here and I would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The proximity to Boyd Memorial Park made for a beautiful location. Jessica was great; prompt, available, and yet really left us to ourselves. The studio is very cozy and the little kitchen surprisingly great. There is highway noise from US 101 down the hill but it's not an issue with the windows closed. Otherwise, it's a very private and charming spot in a great location!
