We are located about a mile from downtown San Rafael, 30 minutes from San Francisco, and 40 minutes from Napa and Sonoma. We look forward to meeting you!
PET OWNERS: PLEASE SEE OUR PET POLICY, BELOW.
This cozy studio is completely remodeled and beautiful (in our humble opinion)! It's about 430 square feet and adjoins the house but has its own entrance.
We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood with lots of trees and walking trails nearby. Technically, we're in the San Rafael hills, although we're only about one-third of a mile (up a winding road) from Lincoln Avenue, one of the main streets running through San Rafael.
Full bathroom with bathtub & shower
Kitchenette with stove, refrigerator and microwave
32" flat-screen TV with premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.)
Wireless internet access
Plenty of street parking, which is a short walk to the front door (no steps)
We provide all linens, towels, and soap. Guests staying 7 days or more may use our washer and dryer.
San Rafael is a convenient and central Bay Area location, only a 30-minute drive to Napa, San Francisco, Berkeley/Oakland, and about 20 minutes to the beach and Muir Woods. Downtown San Rafael and the transit station are about 1 mile away, as is the freeway entrance (101 north and south). The downtown area is charming, with artist studios, shops, restaurants, and a wonderful art house cinema. Sol Food Restaurant, less than a mile away, has been written up in the New York Times (36 Hours in Marin County); it has delicious and inexpensive Puerto Rican food. We're also near Dominican College, and the Terrapin Crossroads, a great new music venue owned by Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead.
We love hosting people and can guarantee you'll feel comfortable and well cared for. We have an elderly dachshund who mostly stays in the house and a small standard poodle who is very sweet and friendly. Looking forward to meeting you soon!
PET POLICY: SORRY, NO CATS. WE CHARGE $10.00 PER NIGHT FOR YOUR DOG; WHEN YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION, PLEASE INCLUDE HIM/HER AS AN EXTRA PERSON. FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU ARE A COUPLE AND HAVE A DOG, YOU WOULD MAKE THE RESERVATION FOR THREE PEOPLE. WE DO NOT WANT PETS TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE STUDIO. THANK YOU!
The only real rule is that smoking isn't allowed on the premises. Other than that, we would appreciate that guests be aware that we are living upstairs and to keep noise to a minimum in the evening.
I stayed at Jessica and Stacey's studio apartment for five days, and I couldn't have picked a better place. The studio was spacious, clean, and cozy and the location was great, just a few minutes north of downtown San Rafael. Jessica made sure I had everything I needed when I got there and was available in case anything came up (nothing did!). The neighborhood was quiet -- I was working nights, so had to sleep in the morning/early afternoon, and had no problem getting rest. I will definitely be back!
Jessica and Stacey were perfect hosts. Place was up in the hills, in a quaint area. Very clean and had everything we needed. Would stay again.
Jessica and Stacey have created a cozy, private enclave where you can feel comfortable and relax.
My wife and I had plenty of room and access to our own kitchen to cook our meals.
Everything we wanted was within a short drive. And we had access to great hiking trails within a 30 minute drive.
They were there to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed. After that, they gave us our space and privacy.
I highly recommend this place.
Thank you, Jessica and Stacey.
Space was adorable, comfortable and functional. Roads are a bit narrow with sharp turns-be prepared to drive at a slow, safe speed. Drive is no more than 5 minutes from main road, so not a problem at all. Kitchen has all of the necessities (pots, pans, plates, etc...) and grocery store is about a 10 minute drive. Had a great time and will definitely stay again!
WOW! What a wonderful studio apartment. Jessica and Stacey went ABOVE and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect and cozy. They made our colleague's stay perfect and were incredible hosts. Gold star for one of the best airbnbs in the Bay Area!
The cozy studio was exactly that. It was perfect. Quiet, cozy and I felt like I was in another world with all the trees surrounding the studio. Jessica graciously worked with my changing arrival time and set me right me. Jessica even made sure I had plenty of coffee and some creamer - - instead of going back out to the grocery store. Stacey did an amazing job on creating the perfect space. Thank you so much! I have already made one referral to another co-worker visiting the area!
Jessica is a low vision consultant and sales representative for a company that manufactures electronic magnification devices. Stacey is an artist and general contractor -- he's the one who is responsible for making the studio so beautiful! Jessica has lived in Marin County for over 20 years, Stacey is a more recent transplant from the East Bay, where his business is located. They both love hosting people and making them feel comfortable.
