Didn't meet Matteo but he was supwr friendly and helpful, and the flat is great. Really close to the station and a great base for your stay inRiomaggiore and 5Terre! Lovely.
The apartment is located in one of the best villages of cinqueterre. Matteo was helpful in every aspects. He gave us all the directions to his apartment and recommend us some of the best places to go in cinqueterre. I truly recommend his apartment
Accurate description. Left great recommendations on top of well organized arrival and departure.
Perfect location in Riomaggiore and Matteo provided us with great information to prepare the holidays.
The apartment in itself is a bit old but this is also typical of the cinqueterre
Matteo met us at the apartment -- he was very kind and friendly, giving us great written information prior to our arrival and answering our questions when we got there. It is hot in August, so he made sure there was ice in the freezer! The apartment was simple, clean, and as advertised. And the location -- Cinque Terre. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. We would happily come back.
Have you ever checked out of a place where you've stayed and incidentally left something behind? Yes?!? Well, it happened to us. Sadly, we noticed the bag of washing missing 500 km away. I called the host Matteo as soon as I found out, only to be told that my bag of clothes was considered as "trash" and put in the bin... thrown away
first of all, sorry for my bad english... but let me remind you what happened during and after your check out, so people can understand better:
when you checked out ( 1,5 hours later than the check out time, without giving me an advice) i waited for you while you were still packing your stuffs before leaving the apt; I asked you if you had everything with you; and you said yes, after taking a look in the whole flat... to be sure, i've asked you another time, and you said the same thing, after giving a 2nd look... so you left the apt.
Then i started to clean and tidy: you have left a plastic bag under the sink (with food packaging and some bottles), another plastic bag (with some very dirty shorts on the top of it) close to the small sofa-bed, a "pizza-box"( with some leftover food inside )on the table and, some leftover food inside the fridge, again ( by the way, i would really appreciate that people don't leave leftover food/dirty things everywhere in my home, just because the 1st day cleaning service is included in the price: it doesn't mean that you can do that... i ask to my guests just to be respectful, nothing of special... I don't think to ask so much)
anyway, while cleaning and tidying, I simply picked the 2 bags and the pizza box, and left them into the trash box, because you told me twice ( after checking twice) that you took everything.
Some hours later , you texted me a mobile message, asking me about the bag with the dirty clothes... i responded you that i was sorry, but i couldn't send you back that bag, cause i've put it into the trash box in the street and the trashman took it into the dump ( i repeat: after i had asked you twice if you had checked everything while leaving the flat)
So you sent me a second message, that sounded like that:
"I had something like 500 € or more (???) of clothes in that bag! i can't believe you've thrown it away! try to resume it..."
i wrote you back, telling you again that it was no possible do that
you wrote me the last time , asking me to " reconsider my position" (???)
IMHO i think that, after i've asked you twice ( and you checked twice your stuffs one hour and half later than the check out time: so you had all the time to verify if you had everithing with you) is very obvious and reasonable to consider a plastic bag with dirty clothes inside left on the floor as trash/ things to throw away ( we aren't talking about a wallet/ camera/ electronic device/briefcases or similars: in this case it's and reasonable to consider them things that you really forget in the apt; and it's obvious i wouldn't put them in the trash, trying to give them back to the owner... so simple and (website hidden): that's a review of my guest some years ago ( copy and paste)
Matteo has been an incredible host. We lost our (email hidden) in Riomaggiore and had already left for Rome by the time we realised (and were very upset to lose 3 weeks worth of holiday photos!!). Matteo has been a lifesaver and went to the bar to collect our camera and is organising the shipping back to Australia for us. Matteo, I can't thank you enough! We are very lucky you were our host. The apartment is very clean, bright and in a great central location. Even with 5 people we had plenty of space. 5 stars!
and the same thing happened to another my guest: Jack Pepper
just to show you that when i can , i do everything is possible to help my guests
