My girlfriend and I had a lovely couple of nights' stay with Chris at La Capilla. The place is in a beautiful quiet spot a little outside Urubamba town, very tranquil and peaceful. Some of the photos do not do the place justice, with a lovely central garden which received regular hummingbird visitors. As animal lovers, we were very pleased to spend some time with the family's pets, including a tiny kitten and some adorable puppies. Chris as a host was very welcoming as well as generous with his time and attention, ensuring we were making the most of our stay and giving us his advice on how best to spend our days in the area. We had an early start one morning to get to Machu Picchu (note: allow 25mins to get from the lodge to Ollantaytambo if you're getting the train to Machu Picchu) and Chris was up early to prep us a breakfast and see us off with his preferred local taxi company. Food options, particularly at dinner, were surprisingly varied, with the lomo saltado being an easy recommendation. Eggs, fruit, bread and cereals were the breakfast choices, and coffee and tea (including coca mate for the altitude) available throughout the day. We picked La Capilla after a personal recommendation and would easily recommend the place to anyone else staying in the area. If anything, next time I'd look to stay longer for Chris to take us on one of his hiking routes in the hills around the place too!

Christophe and his family were super nice and helpful. It took them ten years to build the beautiful garden inn, which is comfy and relaxing. The place slows down my pace and made me feel like sitting down and breathing. Christophe gave me valuable advices regarding transportation to locations nearby and things to do and see. There is a full bar and a menu of French cuisines, which was really satisfying after a long day walk. Highly recommended.
