The Space

Quiet single/double room in a flat, part of a 1930's building (comfortable french bed 120cm large). Private bathroom inside the room.
The Flaminio area is central, mainly built in the '60's ( 5 minute's walk to Renzo Piano's Auditorium - front Maxxi museum (free wifi ) - near Olimpic stadium, Flaminio stadium, Olimpic theater, Milvio bridge, Villaggio Olimpico, Nervi's Palazzetto dello Sport.
Taking bus number 2 you'll be in Piazza del Popolo (included in ancient walls from 3rd century A.C.) and reach metro station A Flaminio in 5 minutes while in Piazza Mancini you'll find many others buses to reach the Vatican and every area of the city. The Vatican is not far from here and from my windows you can see the dome of St.Peter.
In Milvio square and in P.zza Mancini garden, movida romana every week end.
Every friday, there's a tipycal secondhand/new market in the open at 100 m from home and every tuesday another similar one inside Stadio Flaminio gardens.
Available professional tour guiding of the city at affordable costs.
In the area you can find shops of any kind, pharmacies, bars, pubs, restaurants and pizzerie, cinema (also in the open during summer), green areas and swimming pools on the river Tiber.
Well served by public transportation and taxi.
As guests, you'll be welcomed and supported in every possible way by the host.
Please, read all that's written on the account, before booking.
Just in front of the windows there's a free wifi hotspot and it's possible to connect even from inside the flat.
Sometimes is possible to have wifi in the flat

  • Esperienza molto positiva!!

It's been a beautiful experience stay in Rossella's place.
She really know wich are most important things in this community: a beautiful home, clean, full of light, silence, cool furnitures from all over the world, privacy, helpfullnes and happiness. It's easy to reach with tram and bus and it's near to the Olympic Stadium and contemporaney art museum. We are really satisfied about this experience and we'll come back again surely

    Response from Rossella:

I'm sorry you forgot the fact that I let you use my personal wifi (on my account is clearly written there's no wifi available) and you abused of my courtesy, consuming most of the 2gb I've got for a whole month, in only two days, making long lasting phone calls in poland with your tablet. You even complained because sometimes the connection wasn't working well... what a claim!
I understand you were bothered when I told you that you couldn't use it anymore.
I'm also sorry you forgot I let you use my private landline to talk to your family. And I'm sorry that you omit I let you use the kitchen, even if it isn't an available service. You also forgot to mention other acts of kindness from my side.
Even if the building is ancient and something may look old-fashioned, everything is working and I'd really like to know which kind of restrictions of use you're talking about.
I gave you all the right info to reach your destinations and come back, you probably were distracted while I was talking.
Tram use the parallel road (10 mt away) in the last bit of its path, that, anyhow, ends up in the same place it begins, so it doesn't change anything for someone who wants to (email hidden)xt year a brand new modern and private bathroom will be available for guests, I'm not sorry you won't see it.
I suggest that next time you should be more careful and choose something up to your standard .. :))

  • Rossella was a very kind host and supported me in every way I could have wished for to have a great stay in Rome. My arrival was delayed but she waited for me patiently and with her instructions it was really easy to find the way to her apartment. It is in the North, a few tram stops north from Piazza del Popolo, a beautiful Piazza with one of the most beautiful churches in Rome, Santa Maria del Popolo. This Piazza is a must see. Through the impressive town gate of Piazza del Popolo used to arrive visitors like Goethe. It is still said to be one of the best ways to approach Rome and indeed the view is impressive. Close to the Piazza is the Villa Borghese - one of the museums that all travel guides highly recommend, but you have to register to visit the museum, do no forget! - and the park in which the Villa Borghese is is very beautiful even though it was raining all day. If you take the tram no. 2 like Rossella recommends you just get off the final station. You must walk in the direction of travel, then cross the crosswalk to the left and walk until the first corner. You cross the street, then turn left again and after 50 m you are at the first gate. It is a very well cared for and safe nice building complex with lots of green. It´s beautiful, quiet and clean. There is a lift, too. Rossella lives in a very nice apartment with beautiful Italian tiles on the floor. All is very clean and tidy. There is a cat, too. He is beautiful, relaxed but shy and Rossella is very cautious that he does not get into the guest room. There is one bathroom and one kitchen. I got a set of towels to use, too. I can not imagine how one must behave not to feel welcome. I did not expect much more than a bed which I had paid for. That was the offer and what I had booked. It was no problem to use the kitchen when I kindly asked and behaved like I would want a stranger to behave in my private apartment. Rossella was very kind. She is a good tourist guide, too. She was born in Rome and comes from a real Roman family. It was great fun listening to her about arts, culture, history. You can book her as a guide if you wish. If you like to be in touch with locals, get very handy tips that suit your interests, stay in a place with charme but have your privacy respected, wish for a kind, decent and helpful host that speaks English well and makes you feel welcome in the truly uncomplicated and charming Italian way - this is the place to stay! I felt very welcome and could not have asked for a more friendly and helpful host! Thanks...

  • Do not stay here! We got lost on our first day there and had no way to communicate with Rosella. When we finally arrived after being awake for over 24 hours, she greeted us by yelling at us for not arriving at the exact time we hoped. She got angry that we didn't know all of the history of Rome. We felt unwelcome the entire time. We were not allowed to eat in the room and had to walk on eggshells just to get to the bathroom. When we were leaving, she took the opportunity to get mad again, informing us that she was angry that we moved a shirt that she left in our room, meaning that she went into our room and through our stuff when we were out.
Location is alright but not worth saving the money to stay with someone worse than your mother.

    Response from Rossella:

All this is ridiculous and sounds like a vengeance. I got mad for what? come on, only because I've told you that it was rude to take my stuff off the dresser and throw them on the floor to put yours inside? If you don't know how to behave, don't blame it on me. You're also dirty and messy but I didn't say anything.
And I obviously come into the room, to clean the floor, put some fresh water for guests and to take my stuff inside the wardrobe.
I wouldn't want to be your mother, that's for sure
