About this listing
My condo is a modern, up scale unit in the booming Mission District on a quiet street. You'll be a 10 minute walk to BART. The master bedroom has a lovely Southern view, a comfy bed and your own bathroom. You'll be steps to three different cafes.
Your room includes a queen sized bed, a rear-facing window that lets in sunshine but is sweetly quiet for a big city. The room is located on the second floor of the unit. This is the master bedroom with a full bathroom that is entirely private en suite. There is a large walk in closet and flat screen TV to watch movies or connect to your computer. There is a dresser and closet space for your clothes.
The apartment itself is modern but comfortable, spread across 2 floors with a loft feel, with all the common areas open to each other. On the first floor there's a full, modern kitchen open to the combined dining and living room. The living room features tall windows that show off the city's sun or fog, as the case may be. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'd expect and need, such as a dishwasher, gas stove, and ice machine. There is also a washer and dryer for guests. The entire home has been freshly painted in the past year.
On the upper floor, where your room is located, there's a mezzanine that overlooks the living room — I primarily use this for office space, so you won't spend time here except to get to the deck. I am home during the day working if I am in town but travel often so you might have the top floor to yourself. I do sleep in my office if I am home during your stay. On the deck you can take in a view of the city. The deck has a nice gas starting, charcoal BBQ which can be fun if you catch one of the warmer San Francisco evenings!
Wifi is available, however please note there is no television in the common areas. No smoking in the apartment.
There are reasonable quiet hours to respect my neighbors as I live in a condo and we can hear one another. There is a second bedroom in my home that my good friend occupies so you will have company during your stay. He works Monday-Friday out of the out of the house and has a busy social life so you might not even run into him during your stay.
WiFi, Full use of kitchen and living area, washer and dryer if you stay for a full week or upon request, gas grill on the deck
Interaction with guests
If I'm here during your stay, you'll see me around as I work from home and will sleep in my office while you enjoy my room. I'm just as often out and about as I am at my desk, so I can also share lots of recommendations for how to have fun during your visit to San Francisco! I travel often for my work so we may not meet. I do have a roommate who you will probably meet but not see often.
The home is in the heart of one of San Francisco's most vibrant neighborhoods. Across the street or within just a few blocks are some of the city's new, exciting restaurants and bars including Flour + Water, Central Kitchen, The Tradesman, Blowfish Sushi, Salumeria, Universal Cafe and Trick Dog bar. Additionally Atlas Cafe and The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen are great for a coffee and simple lunch or dinner.
The apartment is located in the sunny Mission district, conveniently located just 15 minutes drive from downtown and 20 minutes from the airport. The 16th Street BART commuter train station is a 10 minute walk, putting you just 2 stops from shopping at Union Square as well as Powell Street and the nearby convention center. A few more stops and you will arrive at the vibrant Embarcadero which has shops, access to the bay and much more! The condo is also with in a block of two major bus lines, the 72-Bryant and the 12-Folsom
Other things to note
I do have two rooms that I rent on Airbnb so you may share the house other travelers, my roommate or myself.
Thanks for reading this long description. For a reward here are my top 10 things to do in San Francisco. Enjoy!
My top 10 for San Francisco
1.Alcatraz – the boat ride out and back will give you a great view of the city but you will need reservations in advance
2.Golden Gate Park – you could spend days here particularly if you include the museums
3. Lombard Street – the crooked street. It will be beautiful in July but a good year round atttraction.
4.EAT! – Some of the best food you can get in the States will be in San Francisco
5.Exploratorium – it’s new location down by the Ferry building is must, you can include the Ferry building that day too. Good food there.
6.People watch from a café – relax and enjoy our diversity
7.Muir Woods – it requires a car or a tour bus but a great way to see the CA Redwoods
8.Cable Car ride- take the CA Line, less crowded and a great view of the bay
9.Boat ride in the Bay – great way to see the Golden Gate
10. Mission Walking tour – my hood with lots of history about the 1906 earthquake STR-0000359

I am an executive coach and leadership consultant with my own business. I work out of my house so am around during the day. I spent 13 years in the hospitality business so opening up my home to travelers was a no brainer. I am orginally from Colorado but have been living in San Francisco for 19 years and love city life. I am more than happy to help you out with things to do and see. I love to cook and if you are around for a meal I am happy to share!
In 2013 I had a 26 day adventure through Italy, Malawi, Africa and China. In Italy I soaked Rome for just a day, volunteered in Africa with the African Library Project and worked and vacationed in China. I stayed in a few Airbnb places and loved it. The trip inspired me to continue to host others from all over the world. I feel like I got to experience my trip through the lense of the locals via my stays with Airbnb host. It was awesome and I want to do the same for others.
I am commited to being a global citizen. Of course that is a big concept and would be happy to share a drink with you and discuss it further. I want to continue to have my mind and heart opened and touched by people from all over the world. Hosting and traveling are not the only ways I do that but they are two of the ways that are completely invigorating to me.
