Thanks and have a great stay in lovely Alkmaar.
Micha's place is cosy. Bedroom is a bit small but its ok for single occupant. Alkmaar is away frm the hustle and bustle and hence a good choice for me. Micha serves a large portion of breakfast and for a small eater like me was a bit too heavy. Love her pancakes! Tks Micha!
The room is small but well-furnished and very cozy. Location is very close to the train station, cheese market (although I missed it). Coffee shops, markets, grocery shops or anything you need to shop for are within walking distant. Beautiful beaches and lake are few miles away, cycling there would be the best option.
Micha is a very considerate and organized host. She made arrangement for my arrival 3 weeks before, making sure I would get to her house safely with accurate guidance in direction. Although house is small but every area is very tidy and well-organized. Micha also made time to take me around to the city centre and explaining some interesting stuff about Alkmaar. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Micha's place!
Micha's home was nicely decorated and comfortable. The room is quite small but is well equipped. Location is excellent- 2 minutes walk from Alkmaar train station and bus links, also a short walk away from Alkmaar city centre. Micha is a great host; very helpful, welcoming and provides a magnificent breakfast at a very reasonable price. Would definitely return in the future.
If you're in alkmaar, you gotta stay with micha! Such a fun and caring individual spend with. She genuinely wants her guests to enjoy themselves. Her breakfast is amazing. The room you stay in is small but it's cared for with a big heart. Definitely stay here!
A lovely stay in a small but sufficient room in this gezellig house. Alkmaar is also wonderful - a peaceful historic town in its own right but only 1/2 hour on the train from the exciting madness that is Amsterdam.
Micha's place was a real highlight of our travels so far. Firstly, her home is small but so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. It is full of natural light, and gave me a sense of being on retreat. The bedroom on offer is tiny, with little floor space, which made packing a little tricky, but this detail was more than overpowered by Micha's warmth and hospitality. The room feels welcoming, with tea, coffee, fruit and bickies, even a foot spa, which came in handy after a tiring (but amazing) few weeks of being on the road encumbered with backpacks. Her breakfast spread is absolutely a MUST, so delicious, so abundant - a true Dutch feast! The place is very close to the train station which made traveling to Amsterdam easy. The trains are quite regular and continue late into the night. It was lovely to have a quiet place to come home to after a big day in Amsterdam. Alkmaar is a charming place to explore on a sunny day, and I felt it was a bonus to see another town while we were in the Netherlands. Lastly, I was sad to leave a new friend behind - Micha, I hope we meet again!
Very good City and very quiet area ...if you want a city to enjoy with your wife its ok. The room was small but fine for us to a short stay.
Living life to the fullest with all there is! That's my creed.
Important things for me in life are:
