Hello welcome in Belgium / Ghent :)
Etienne and I live in the city centre of Ghent, in an old monastry. From our house it's only 10 minutes walking to the old center or the St-Baafscathedral, one of the famous 3 towers of Ghent.
Ghent has a central location in Flanders. Antwerp and Brussels at 50 km and Bruges at 30 km. All cities are easy to reach by train.
We can offer you a room with double bed, (+baby bed), internet, and a private bathroom. In your room you'll find everything you need: towels, soap, coffee, tea, water.
By arrival you're offered a coffee or tea, beer or a wine,.. to welcome you.
We arrange a nice BIO/ORGANICbreakfast in the morning, if the weather is nice, you can sit in our garden.
We love traveling around, which is reflected in the interior of our house. We would love to share some off the beaten track secrets with you, about this fantastic city we live in. We enjoy nice food and drinks and we would happily suggest places to your very taste.
Getting here couldn't be easier : the busstop is just around the corner (stop : Ekkergemkerk), the tramstop is nearby and the station Ghent Sint Pieters is a good 20 minutes' walk from our house. If you come by car, can park in our street ( 3,50 euros a day/24hours) or at the free parking space at 500 m. A taxi from the station costs 8 euros.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Ghent is waiting to be discovered by you!
We hope to see you soon,

If you are visiting Ghent, look no further than this amazing room in Ruth's beautiful home. With the massive and comfortable bed, gorgeously decorated room, big wonderful shower with heated floors and rainfall shower, you will not need anything else. We were greeted with coffee and snacks upon our (very early) arrival - which Ruth was exceptionally patient about. We were given eating and drinking suggestions and welcomed every morning with a luxurious spread of breakfast items and delicious coffee. We were incredibly sad to leave their beautiful home full of art and wondrous little curiosities! The historic center is about 15 minutes by foot or 5 minutes if you rent a bike. There is honestly no hardship in strolling down Ghent's beautiful cobbled streets to make your way into the historic center. We were incredibly happy and looked after during our entire stay and give Ruth the highest ratings! You NEED to stay her, it's just wonderful!
Great place for a stay in Gent. The renewed monastry perfectly fits the city's atmosphere and Ruth and her lovely family made us feel very much at home.
Ruth and Etienne gave us a lovely welcome. Lots of advise for where to visit and eat while in Gent. The room was amazing and the shower was 10/10. Bed so comfortable we did not want to leave. The breakfast was delicious and the setting very beautiful. Great location for sightseeing too. will hope to return if back in Gent and will be recommending to friends!!!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at B&B Marie Reine during Ghent's Light Festival. Lovely couple & very accommodating to our every need. Until next time Ruth & Etienne.
We had a wonderful time in the beautiful home! Ruth a Etienne are absolutely lovely, the breakfast was great and their home is amazing.
Marie
