Hello welcome in Belgium / Ghent :)

Etienne and I live in the city centre of Ghent, in an old monastry. From our house it's only 10 minutes walking to the old center or the St-Baafscathedral, one of the famous 3 towers of Ghent.
Ghent has a central location in Flanders. Antwerp and Brussels at 50 km and Bruges at 30 km. All cities are easy to reach by train.

We can offer you a room with double bed, (+baby bed), internet, and a private bathroom. In your room you'll find everything you need: towels, soap, coffee, tea, water.
By arrival you're offered a coffee or tea, beer or a wine,.. to welcome you.
We arrange a nice BIO/ORGANICbreakfast in the morning, if the weather is nice, you can sit in our garden.
We love traveling around, which is reflected in the interior of our house. We would love to share some off the beaten track secrets with you, about this fantastic city we live in. We enjoy nice food and drinks and we would happily suggest places to your very taste.

Getting here couldn't be easier : the busstop is just around the corner (stop : Ekkergemkerk), the tramstop is nearby and the station Ghent Sint Pieters is a good 20 minutes' walk from our house. If you come by car, can park in our street ( 6 euros a day/24hours) or at the free parking space at 500 m. You can park near the house 15 minutes for free. A taxi from the station costs 8 euros.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Ghent is waiting to be discovered by you!
We hope to see you soon,
Etienne Vanthomme and Ruth Bossier

We had a wonderful time staying at Ruth and Etienne's home, which had once been a convent. They were charming and incredibly helpful hosts, and they even serve a nice breakfast to their guests, which is unusual for an Airbnb property. Our room was large and clean and the apartment was conveniently located to several bus lines which got us everywhere we wanted to go in the beautiful city of Ghent. Bedankt Ruth en Etienne!

My partner and I had a very nice couple of days in Ghent as a little extension of a visit to France. Ruth and Etienne were great hosts and their place really comfortable. Our room was spacious with a large, comfortable bed (two singles put together I think but still great) and really good shower. Breakfast of coffee, croissants and eggs (pleasantly soundtracked by Ernest Ranglin) set up us up excellently for each day. Location was great - a pleasant 20 minute walk into central Ghent but we also enjoyed checking out some of the local bars and restaurants in their neighbourhood. Ruth and Etienne gave us some pointers on where to visit when we first arrived to start off our adventuring and gave us a good amount of privacy that you don't always get with 'room in a house' stays. Highly recommended hosts.

Fantastic scenic place. Quiet but walkable from the city center, and buses nearby. This ancient convent was restored with much love by its artist owners. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice stay in Ghent. The room was quiet and cosy, and the breakfast was very nice. It took about 10 minutes to walk into town and 20 minutes from the train station. Ruth was very accommodating, letting us check in early and leave our bags on the final day.

I live in Ghent, I like traveling, but when we are at home we like to meet "traveling people", we like the contact of different cultures...
