Neighborhood: Located In the Division/Clinton dining district, we are within walking distance (1-2 blocks) to Stumptown Coffee, Woodsman Market and Restaurant, and many other SE Portland restaurants and shops. Check out our guidebook for some of our favorites! We are also close to Hawthorne, well known for its shopping. Our home is in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood with craftsman style homes. Easy walk (10 minute) to organic grocery store, New Seasons Market. To get downtown or to the rest of the city the Bus stop is 1 block away and around the corner, though Hawthorne and Division/Clinton streets are walkable. We are not far from beautiful Mt Tabor with hiking/biking trails, playgrounds, and a view of the entire city.
Free street parking available, and never difficult to park right in front of our house. Bus lines are a block away - schedules available on Trimet online.
Other Things to Note
IMPORTANT: The home is the 2nd floor unit in a busy family home with 2 young children 2 and 6 years old. We try our best to create a quiet environment for our guests during late evening and early morning hours but sound carries easily in this nearly 100 year old home. Our kids definitely bustle around during the daytime. Both units (upper and lower) are completely separated and there is a private exterior entry into the 2nd floor apartment.
Please, no parking in the driveway -- street parking only.
No Animals on the property
Shoes off at the front door.
Quiet time after 10 PM
At check out time:
Empty your garbage/recycling/compost into the city roll carts outside.
Leave all used sheets/towels in the laundry basket.
Feel free to write in the guestbook if you wish!
Enjoy your stay!!
Raven's Nest was clean and cozy--a great space for our small family. The weather was unseasonably hot but Becky provided a portable AC, which was very thoughtful. We even got to eat a few remaining and very tasty raspberries from her front yard!
My partner and our 16 month old spent a week here with my parents who were out from the east coast, and the Raven's Nest was the perfect place for us all to be together. We come to Portland often, and usually stay in a boutique hotel downtown, but wanted to be based in a SE neighborhood for this trip. Becky and her family were traveling during the bulk of our stay, and so the five of us were able to entirely take over the yard in addition to the apartment. We packed a basket of our baby's favorite books and toys to bring with us, but she ended up playing almost entirely with the books, blocks, rocking horse, and trucks that were in the apartment and outdoor space.
We hadn't ever stayed past 39th in Portland, and wondered whether we'd feel too far out, but we were able to easily walk from Raven's Nest down to People's, and up to Hawthorne and Belmont. It is a lovely spot.
Becky was great at answering my questions before booking. I'm fairly new to Airnb and she was so sweet and patient with me. The Raven's Nest has exactly as described. I appreciated the clear renters instructions and check out procedures.
Everyone was comfortable and happy with our visit. We weren't there a whole lot, but when we were the kids enjoyed the the wifi and cable tv.
It was nice having Stumptown Coffee a four minute walk away in the morning to get me going. We highly recommend New Seasons Market for quick meals at an affordable price that made everyone happy.
Raven's Nest was cozy, and met all of my expectations based on the profile images. It provided everything I needed for my vacation and my family and I were very comfortable during our stay.
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Ravens Nest! Our host was very kind and welcoming and provided us with everything we needed and more. Our kids enjoyed playing with the toys and loved the space. The neighborhood was quaint and gave us the real Portland experience.
About the Host, Becky
I am a stay at home mom of two children (we live in the downstairs home). Our parents, when they visit us, stay the upstairs unit that we have available on airbnb. My husband works in the field of early childhood education and I teach art classes.
We love gardening and spending time outdoors, camping, hiking and playing with our kids. We enjoy spending time in our neighborhood, walking to our organic grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops.
