Neighborhood: Located In the Division/Clinton dining district, we are within walking distance (1-2 blocks) to Stumptown Coffee, Woodsman Market and Restaurant, and many other SE Portland restaurants and shops. Check out our guidebook for some of our favorites! We are also close to Hawthorne, well known for its shopping. Our home is in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood with craftsman style homes. Easy walk (10 minute) to organic grocery store, New Seasons Market. To get downtown or to the rest of the city the Bus stop is 1 block away and around the corner, though Hawthorne and Division/Clinton streets are walkable. We are not far from beautiful Mt Tabor with hiking/biking trails, playgrounds, and a view of the entire city.
Free street parking available, and never difficult to park right in front of our house. Bus lines are a block away - schedules available on Trimet online.
Other Things to Note
IMPORTANT: The home is the 2nd floor unit in a busy family home with 2 young children 2 and 6 years old. We try our best to create a quiet environment for our guests during late evening and early morning hours but sound carries easily in this nearly 100 year old home. Our kids definitely bustle around during the daytime. Both units (upper and lower) are completely separated and there is a private exterior entry into the 2nd floor apartment.
Please, no parking in the driveway -- street parking only.
No Animals on the property
Shoes off at the front door.
Quiet time after 10 PM
At check out time:
Empty your garbage/recycling/compost into the city roll carts outside.
Leave all used sheets/towels in the laundry basket.
Feel free to write in the guestbook if you wish!
Enjoy your stay!!
Becky was great at answering my questions before booking. I'm fairly new to Airnb and she was so sweet and patient with me. The Raven's Nest has exactly as described. I appreciated the clear renters instructions and check out procedures.
Everyone was comfortable and happy with our visit. We weren't there a whole lot, but when we were the kids enjoyed the the wifi and cable tv.
It was nice having Stumptown Coffee a four minute walk away in the morning to get me going. We highly recommend New Seasons Market for quick meals at an affordable price that made everyone happy.
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Ravens Nest! Our host was very kind and welcoming and provided us with everything we needed and more. Our kids enjoyed playing with the toys and loved the space. The neighborhood was quaint and gave us the real Portland experience.
The apartment was attractive, comfortable, and well-equipped. We loved the neighborhood and worked our way through a number of terrific restaurants. Bus connections to Downtown were very good.
My husband, 7-month old, and myself visited Portland and loved our stay at the Raven's nest.
Becky and her husband Vince made it like a home away from home for us. The two-bedroom unit sits above the host's home in a "mother-in-law" style unit. The entrance around the back was separate from the main house, which gave us privacy coming and going. The kitchen was nice to have for cooking breakfast, coffee, tea, storing snacks, and have lunch items around so we didn't have to eat out for the entire trip. They provided plenty of guides and magazines for learning more about the Portland area and researching restaurants and shops to visit during our stay. And, for those of you with kiddos, the hosts were able to provide a Pack N Play crib + toys for our baby, which made the space way better than any hotel we could have stayed at!
The neighborhood was a short 10-15 minute drive from downtown. But the Richmond / Mt. Tabor area was nice to check out as well. We had a great time taking the baby out for walks along SE Division and in the surrounding area. The unit was walking distance from a Stumptown coffee plus various other restaurants, shops, and an outdoor food truck lot. It was also a very short drive to Hawthorne, which is a nearby hub with even more shops, restaurants, a movie theater, etc.
We would definitely stay here again!
Such a welcoming home! Everything we needed was there for the wonderful time we spent in Portland for our daughter's graduation from Lewis & Clark College. We were in walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and shopping and we took advantage of that.
