Check out our guidebook for some of our favorites! We are also close to Hawthorne, well known for its shopping. Our home is in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood with craftsman style homes. Easy walk (10 minute) to organic grocery store, New Seasons Market. To get downtown or to the rest of the city the Bus stop is 1 block away and around the corner, though Hawthorne and Division/Clinton streets are walkable. We are not far from beautiful Mt Tabor with hiking/biking trails, playgrounds, and a view of the entire city.
Free street parking available, and never difficult to park right in front of our house. Bus lines are a block away - schedules available on Trimet online.
Other Things to Note
IMPORTANT: The home is the 2nd floor unit in a busy family home with 2 young children 2 and 6 years old. We try our best to create a quiet environment for our guests during late evening and early morning hours but sound carries easily in this nearly 100 year old home. Our kids definitely bustle around during the daytime. Both units (upper and lower) are completely separated and there is a private exterior entry into the 2nd floor apartment.
Please, no parking in the driveway -- street parking only.
No Animals on the property
Shoes off at the front door.
Quiet time after 10 PM
At check out time:

Feel free to write in the guestbook if you wish!
Enjoy your stay!!
Becky was a wonderful host. We arrived in Portland a few hours earlier than expected and she was gracious enough to let us check in early. Becky had a number of tourist books and brochures for us to use while we toured the city over several days. The space was quiet and spacious! It was the perfect place!
We had a fantastic time staying at Becky's beautiful apartment. It was really well-situated and my boys loved the cats which they got to pet and that made them feel at home. It was a great neighbourhood with lots going on and we would highly recommend it to families.
I stayed at Raven's Nest with my parents and brother, and it was perfect for us. Equipped with everything you could ever need (including a first aid kit and fire extinguisher), and complete with personal touches such as a handwritten welcome note and helpful guidebook with recommendations on where to eat/drink/look around, we felt comfortable and taken care of. The entire place was very clean, organized, and cozily decorated! The location cannot be beat, and we were able to walk to a bunch of restaurants and cafes we had wanted to visit. The neighborhood feels safe, and we had tons of privacy. Check-in was a breeze. Only great things to say about Raven's Nest!!
We had a great visit! We loved the charm and the location! Would stay again!
Becky was such a welcoming host! Even though we were unable to meet her, she left us a lovely welcoming note, and messaged me with extra information about our stay. The house was easy to find and the entrance to the upstairs apartment was exactly as Becky described. The house was in a great location in SE Portland—walking distance to amazing restaurants (The American Local!), ice cream, cafes, and bus line connections. There was plenty of easy street parking in front of the house, and the area was very quiet and safe. The perfect home base to explore the Portland area!
We really enjoyed our stay. The place was perfect for our family (with 3 kids), and the location just off Division was great with loads of restaurants to choose from.
Raven's Nest was a great place to stay for our 8-day vacation in Portland. The neighborhood is awesome! There are so many great places to eat, shop, walk, and play nearby. We didn't rent a car during our visit, and didn't need to. We took the bus or max everywhere. The closest bus stop is only a 2-minute walk from the house. It was really a great place if you have a small child. There were plenty of toys for our 3-year-old daughter to play with inside the house and out in the backyard. She slept very well on the pull-out trundle bed. There were two small air conditioners, which kept us very cool at night, and pretty cool during the day. This was important to us since we were staying during the hottest part of the year. All of the amenities were great - wifi, tv, kitchen filled with everything you'd need, towels, sheets, storage, comfortable beds, and a nice shower. And, the place is very quaint. The location really can't be beat! We really enjoyed our time in Portland, and I highly recommend the Raven's Nest.
About the Host, Becky
I am a stay at home mom of two children (we live in the downstairs home). Our parents, when they visit us, stay the upstairs unit that we have available on airbnb. My husband works in the field of early childhood education and I teach art classes.
We love gardening and spending time outdoors, camping, hiking and playing with our kids. We enjoy spending time in our neighborhood, walking to our organic grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops.
