This self-contained flat offers very good value. It is just off the Via Appia, some two or three kilometers south of Formia town centre. It can sleep 4/5 people in two good-sized bedrooms (one double, one triple) plus the kitchen/living room has a single sofa bed if needed. It is clean, comfortable and tidy, has plenty of hot water and is reasonably well-equipped with kitchen equipment. Off-road parking is possible, though we were happy to leave the car on the street. The flat is on the first floor and is reached by a steel staircase, something that won't suit everybody. Also, because the rail line and the Via Appia are close by, it is not the quietest location, so light sleepers might want to check this with Anna.
Locally, there is a good Chinese restaurant, a friendly Italian restaurant and a well-stocked supermarket, all within easy walking distance. The sea front is close by, though as we were rock-climbing at Sperlonga, we didn't visit the beach.
The owner, Anna is a really nice lady who lives downstairs. She doesn't speak any English, but was kind enough to arrange for a friend who does to give us some much appreciated directions. Anna also presented us with a wonderful home-made fruit pie and a bottle of very nice local wine, both of which we enjoyed.
