REPEAT GUESTS ONLY IN THIS ROOM..... It has a panoramic view of Lake Dora. It's a small room but has 10 ft of closet space, dresser with mirror, TV, and an adjacent bath with jacuzzi and shower and the best lake view of all the rooms. No auto book on this room. Allow response time.
Maximum of two people and no children under 10 or pets.

The space

This is the smallest room we have but it has a Queen size bed with a high quality mattress. (not airbed)
This space is unique because it has the best lake view of all three rooms. You can see it from the bed with a panoramic view.
We have wonderful grounds, 3 acres of nature preserve. Screened in pool and fruit trees as well. You can walk around the grounds leisurely or fish off the dock. Good off street parking,
You can lie in bed and watch the sunset each night.
Also you have access to the dock and front dining terrace if you like to have dinner outside. This is really a magic place. The big old oak trees covered in Spanish Moss are very romantic. We have a pool for warm weather but it's not heated. Feel free to go into the pool all year if you don't mind cold water. Private bath right next to your room. Lots of restaurants deliver meals on request or you may choose to wander around town and choose one that catches you're interest. Goblin Market on Dora Dowdy alley is my favorite.
Pisces Rising is good too and you can sit outside on the terrace with a Lake Dora view.
Another favorite is Thai Sushi on Alfred St. in Tavares. It's a dive but the sushi and other dishes are super and very reasonable. I serve breakfast and coffee in the morning.

Guest access

Tavares downtown in 1.5 miles down the road to the right and Mt Dora is 3 miles to the left. Wooton Park in Tavares is a really great park and it includes boat launch ramps, a sea plane base (and rides) and a bunch of restaurants. There is a wonderful play area for kids with water spraying out of a helicopter. When walking dogs there is a water fountain with a lower bowl.
In the other direction is the quaint New England style town of Mount Dora. Lots of shopping and restaurants of every variety you can think of. Even Indian food. Fun to wander among the shops or sit on the docks and watch the boats go by.
This place is like living in paradise. Come experience the peace and listen to the birds. Nobody ever wants to leave when they come here. Try us you'll be glad you did.

You will thoroughly enjoy your stay here. The location is outstanding. The house is beautiful. You will love your hostess! We could not have been more pleased. Linda not only keeps a beautiful home she pays attention to all of the details that make your stay extraordinary. You will love the lake view offered from your window and if you are unsure of what to do in the area, just ask. Linda knows where to find everything; quaint pastry shops, trails, festivals. She is better than (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Final tip- If at all possible do not miss breakfast. You will enjoy beginning your day at her table. :-)

Linda was very accommodating. We arrived very early on our date and was welcomed with a surprise upgrading. The house and grounds are lovely and the view of Lake Dora is fantastic. We enjoyed playing cards and drinking tea at the boathouse. Linda was a gracious host and we felt that we made new friends. We spent a week there.......lots to do in the area.

Linda was absolutely wonderful. Very thoughtful and kind. Met every need we had. She invited us to be part of any group activities she had and thought through every aspect. The room was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was right outside. I would recommend this property to anyone.

I am an artist.
I create encaustic paintings, jewelry, a line of greeting cards that are funny, inspiring, metaphysical and whimsical. I also make some mixed media pieces out of 1925 newsprint and encaustic paint with hand made papers. I teach "how to make earrings" and "beginning encaustic painting".
My husband is a retired mechanical engineer.
He has made parts for the space shuttle and the America's Cup boat races.
We have a few pieces here to remember those days.
You won't be sorry if you choose Villa Autunno. It is a really special place. The grounds have a big pond and creeks, fruit trees, Japanese bridges and of course the lake across the street. You can sit out on the dock and fish or watch the sun go down. Or sit on the front covered terrace with a bottle of wine or a pizza. It is just a quiet pretty place to live and we love it. The huge old moss covered oak tress lend a quiet peace to this place.
As to our hosting style: I will give you as much information as you would like to know and nothing more. I won't talk your head off or enter your room during your stay. Our motto is "Live and Let Live." Give us a try. You'll like it here, everyone does.
