RIAD MAEVA - privately rented - is ideally located in the medina, only 300 meters from the famous Jemâa El Fna square, in the Derb Dabachi neighborhood. As you leave the bustlng square, you enter a quiet lane, well-maintained and securely monitored (8 guest houses in the passageway). Just 200 meters from shops, taxis, carriages, cafes, restaurants and souks, the festivities of the Jemâa El Fna square are within a 3-minute walking distance. From RIAD MAEVA, you can travel easely to all the monuments, cultural sights, and entertainment spots of the Red City.
Entirely renovated in 2012, you will enjoy the riad's cool patio, 3 bedrooms equipped with air conditioning (each with its own bathroom and toilet), and a central gallery which provides access to a stunning, private 80-square meter terrace, sunny all year round, with a beautiful pergola and barbecue. In the evening, enjoy the distant clamor from the neighboring square and the Koutoubia, and the beating heart of the city...
You may want to combine a stay at RIAD MAEVA in Marrakesh with another stay at DAR ELISA, our charming riad in the medina of Fez, the largest and oldest medina in the world (posted on Airbnb website as well).
Il est demandé de veiller à une utilisation raisonnable de la climatisation réservible car l'électricité dans la médina est une denrée rare et le réseau est très vite saturé, sans compter les prix très élevés de l'électricité au Maroc
We've had a great time at Riad Maeva! The place is really beautiful, from the rooms to the rooftop terrace. Bruno and Hassan made sure that we had all that we needed, from information to breakfast and a nice dinner, and they made us feel very welcome!
Simply fantastic! Great location just off the square. Hassan was so helpful, be sure to ask for him to cook for you in the riad the best meal we had during our stay. His English is fantastic and he can organise trips and recommendations for you. The roof terrace offers a great sun trap with privacy. We had ample space for 6 of us. We are already planning next years trip here!
We spend 5 days in the Riad Maeva in January.
The Riad is very nice, like the photos, and it's only 5 minutes of place Jemaa el Fna.
The first day we had some problems with heat air in the rooms and Hassan solved it to the second day, he was really helpful with us.
Bruno's gorgeous Riad is just as described, we were picked up at the airport without a hitch and met by Hassan who was a great help to us, always willing to help with whatever we needed. On the first night Jamila cooked us a beautiful tagine which turned out to be the best of the trip! The location is perfect - just a 3 minute walk from the main square where all the action happens, you wouldn't want to be anywhere else in Marrakech. We sunbathed on the rooftop terrace (in January!) but if you're staying in the cooler months bring some warmer clothes for the evenings which we found quite chilly. The Riad had everything we wanted, and it was lovely to stay somewhere so traditional. We went to Le Foundouk and Al Fassia restaurants and found them excellent. We also took a day trip to Essaouira which is highly recommended - gorgeous little town on the Atlantic coast.
We would highly recommend Riad Maeva - it was a delight.
Our stay in Riad Maeva in January 2015 was thoroughly enjoyable. The Riad is beautiful inside and very spacious. The roof terrace is an excellent escape from the hustle and bustle of the square and souks. Hassan was very helpful and provided us with useful information, where to have breakfast etc..
I would definitely recommend staying at Riad Maeva, it is in an excellent location, 5 minutes walk to the Square but on a quiet street so no problem with noise, and lovely inside.
As we were there during January it was fairly cold in the evenings and we did need to layer up! However there were blankets and heaters provided for us in the Riad.
My husband and I stayed in this riad for the whole of our two week stay in Marrakesh in early December 2014. We both enjoyed the experience of going native and having a whole house available rather than just an hotel room. The floor plan of this typical riad is markedly different than anything found in northern Europe, yet we quickly adapted to it and found if very comfortable. With the available wi-fi we were able to spent leisurely mornings reading on-line newspapers. During our stay our pedometers logged around 100 miles through the streets of Marrakesh and every evening it was a relief to get back to this home in the middle of the medina. Even during the onset of winter we were able to spend enjoyable hours on the roof once the sun was high in late morning. The local support was very friendly and very reliable. So in total our stay here was very positive and there was no fault worth mentioning.
The Riad is absolutely beautiful, very authentic and close to the Medina which is the main square and full of souks and restaurants. The house looks just like in the photos, although it can get cold in the evening (we went in November) there are blankets provided in all bedrooms. We were picked up from the airport and then met in the square by Hassan, who was able to offer us advice and information about Marrakech. Had a meal cooked for us at the house one evening and were taken, by Hassan, to a spa. Wonderful experience, would definitely recommend this place to stay in Marrakech.
