The house was a wonderful, quiet, comfortable retreat in the hills--trees, wildlife, breezes, and scenery. The host Evaristo was superb: kind, welcoming, always available, and very thoughtful of anything we might need. The house consists of two apartments, both are elegantly and beautifully furnished with excellent artistry and taste, and contain everything one needs for daily living, cooking, relaxing, etc. If one is looking for secluded peace and quiet, this is a wonderful place.
Our time at Evaristo's was comfortable and beautiful - we loved "being off the beaten track" and able to unwind in this very thoughtfully renovated farm house. Evaristo was easy to contact and connect with to find the farm (in the end having his son meet us as he was away). He was friendly and helpful - thanks so much!
We visited in early June, and had hot days with cool nights. Our 11 year old son caught fire flies at night, we ate out on the patio, saw wild boar from the house one night. Lovely.
The house has a downstairs suite which can also be rented - we were alone for our stay. Would suit a pair of families travelling together or similar.
Others have commented on the extra payment for propane - for our family of of 5, it cost us 10 Euro/day. This was for hot water and cooking. I don't know if this was typical or not for a group our size, but I would suggest you ask Evaristo ahead of time if this is a concern.
We would go back to La Dimora nel Casale in a heart beat.
Excellent welcome from Evaristo who met us at the entry to the property, about 1Km from the house. Everything in the house is beautiful, the rooms, the garden and the countryside. We especially loved eating out on the terrasse and in the evening after a hot day we watched the fireflies.
Evaristo brought us strawberries and cherries from his garden.
On one of the paths we had a marvellous view of the Basilica in Assisi.
The property was beautiful and just as described. Tucked away in the countryside and yet not far off from Asssisi. Evaristo was great and very efficient. Recommended!
What a jewel of a place! So serene and beautiful, surrounded by acres of olive trees, nut trees, pines and oaks. The views from the gorgeous terrace were wonderful, as were the views of Assisi from a short walk away. The interior was tastefully done with lovely pieces of artwork, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. It was close to Assisi but felt far removed - a perfectly quiet retreat. We cooked all our meals in the little kitchen space as we were so reluctant to leave this idyllic place. Evaristo was a perfect host, meeting us at the bridge and showing the way. We definitely would come again. Thank you Evaristo!
Evaristo's place is great. Once you know where it is (don't worry, he offers to meet you at the beginning of San Fortunato) it is a great base (5min drive to the basilica) to have your Assisi/Umbrian holiday.
We helped ourselves to some of the produce from the trees (figs!) and enjoyed having the view of his olive trees out front. It is noted in the rules in italian that gas is metered so just be mindful however this shouldn't amount to much.
Evaristo is always more than happy to help!

About the Host, Evaristo
