Majoko and Takeshi are host of this house.
It is a room of a Japanese-style tatami.
It is the beautiful, very calm room which can stay to two persons. ( sorry we can receive only 2 people. We can't receive only 1 person)
To a nearby subway station, it is like on foot 7 minute.
Up to the central part of Kyoto, it can go in 10 minute ～ 15 minutes from the station.
Also in the neighborhood, some famous temples are.
Daigo-ji, Kau-ji, Ono zuisinin, etc. can also go on foot.
Moreover, it is a place convenient to go to Uji, Fushimi, Nara, and Shiga Prefecture.
Breakfast can also be prepared if you wish.
(500 yen per meal) A supermarket and a convenience store are also close and are convenient.
There are also many restaurants Okonomiyaki Ramen Soba Udon Bento Izakaya
And If it timing suits, Takeshi ( Manoko's husband) can send you to the station or the place you want to go by his car as much aspossible. Mahoko and Takeshi are very kindly couple.
I think you can have a great time to stay at Mahoko's house.
It is nice sweet couple's home. A traditional Japanese house, very cozy. Location is good and the food is wonderful.
The hosts are very solicitous and even gave us ride to the station and touristic spots.
We recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to feel the Japanese traditional experience.
Mahoko's house is very nice and big. Our room was well prepared when we arrived. Mahoko and her husband are kind and taking good care of us. We spent a great time with them. They love talking with us,mixed with English and Japanese, so funny and memorable. They drove us to the place we want. It's so sweet and thankful. And one more thing, the breakfast, Mahoko is good at cooking. No matter western or Japanese dishes are extremely delicious. I strongly recommend their house. And I will visit them next time.
Mahoko and husband, Takeshi are both really great hosts! We arrived at Mahoko's in the afternoon and was rushing to Arashiyama before the sun sets. Takeshi was kind enough to offer us a lift to the Kyoto Station for us to take a train to Arashiyama.
On the day we left, Mahoko gave us a little souvenir while Takeshi gave us self-inked postcards that he made out of carved wood! That's his hobby. He also gave us a lift to Kyoto Station as we need to take the Shinkansen to Tokyo. So nice of him!
The breakfast that Mahoko made was really delicious though it's simple.
The house is also very clean and it really felt like home to us. I totally love the staircase leading up to the room!
I would really highly recommend this place if anyone were to travel to Kyoto!
Mohoko is the best host ever, her husband is extremely kind and helpful. He drove us to two destinations which are very far from their house .Their house is elegant and clean ,the location is quite convenient which located only 10mins from the subway station . Mohoko made a fancy and healthy breakfast for us . If you want to have a real local stay experience it is the exactly the one you desire for .
Staying at Mahoko’s is probably the closest we will ever come to experience Japanese living and hospitality. The house was compact but comfortable and clean which set the bar high for all our other accommodations in Japan and they came out tops on our list!
Communication was a bit of a challenge but we managed with a translation tool that Mahoko uses on her tablet. If language wasn’t a barrier, I am sure chatting with both Mahoko and Takeshi would be insightful.
Plus point was having Mahoko’s husband, Takeshi, dropping us at our destination and also sending us off which was totally unexpected and for that we are very grateful! It may not be near the city but it is just a 10minutes walk to the nearest subway.
I highly recommend Mahoko’s place - clean, comfortable and safe. It was so comfortable that both my friend and I overslept on our first day!
I had a wonderful stay with Mahoko and Takeshi. They are a very lovely couple and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I especially loved Takeshi's greeting when we first met!
Their home is very nice, clean and comfortable. The sleeping area was a very nice, Japanese style room with tatami mats and comfortable bed.
Hidemi is also available next door, if there are any problems, or if any assistance is needed. She is also a very lovely person and very responsive communicator.
Takeshi and Mahoko's home is conveniently located. I was able to go to and from central Kyoto without any problem. Mahoko and Takeshi were also very helpful in planning my time around Kyoto.
In the end, I left feeling as if Takeshi and Mahoko were family. I highly recommend staying with them. They make their guests feel at home. They were a very big part of a memorable experience in Kyoto. I hope to see them again.
We had the most wonderful stay with Mahoko and Takesh! It is not right in the centre of Kyoto, takes a short walk and subway before you can get anywhere but not at all difficult and everything else makes it worthwhile. Upon our arrival they offered us cold drinks while we discussed our plans for the next two days, and when we decided to go visit Kiyomizu that afternoon Takesh even offered drove us there, along with driving us to Fushimi Inari the next morning which made things so much easier for us. Definitely buy the breakfast for ¥300 that Mahoko offers, Japanese style and extremely yummy. Our room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning which was good being hot summer weather! They speak little English but make a huge effort to communicate well with us, Mahoko uses a voice translation app on her tablet when she doesn't know how to say something in English. We met Hidemi a couple of times who was lovely also.
If you want to stay in a real home with real hospitality then definitely choose Mahoko's house, we couldn't have asked for better hosts :)
