I think you can have a great time to stay at Mahoko's house.
We cannot say enough nice things about our stay with Mahoko and Takeshi, what a welcome we got and what a lovely experience we had staying with them. Their house is very sweet and very clean and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their English is limited but their lovely neighbour Hidemi handles all the emails and is usually around to help out. If you would like a real Japanese Aurbnb do stay with them!
Highly recommend this place to stay in Kyoto. You get to experience living in typical Japanese style house.
We both love staying at Mohoko & Takeshi place. It's clean, convenient to subway and most importantly staying together with friendly, warm, super nice family. Breakfast prepared by Mohoko was simple & yummy!
Also would like to thanks Hidemi for providing clear information getting to the place and she is very helpful.
I met three wonderful person in Kyoto: Mahoko, her husband, and Hidemi (Mahoko's neighbor).
They let me to early check in, and on our arrival day, Hidemi gave me some useful brochures about Kyoto as well as Kyoto map. Besides that, Mahoko's husband drive us to the Arashiyama temple.
On our departure day, Mahoko also made us toast bread for breakfast. Besides, Mahoko's husband also drive us again to the station to take shinkasen train.
All of them are really nice people, and Mahoko's house is very very very clean. I love it.

Great authentic Nippon experience at Mohoko's home away from home. Mohoko and Takeshi have been extra helpful and really paid attention to the little things. The room provided was large enough for 3 persons and it's really comfortable with tatami. Hidemi was fantastic administrator and host. Will definitely come back!
It is nice sweet couple's home. A traditional Japanese house, very cozy. Location is good and the food is wonderful.
The hosts are very solicitous and even gave us ride to the station and touristic spots.
We recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to feel the Japanese traditional experience.
