Duplex apartment in the heart of Antibes Old Town. Located above the Marche Provencal in the Old town of Antibes. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Lounge area able to sleep one more person. Fully equipped kitchen. Excellent Sea View onto the CapD'Antibes. Very special apartment.
Our apartment has beautiful views of the famous Cote D' Azur sea. We are located on the 2nd floor, we are in town but above all the hustle and the bustle. Our apartment is quiet and is modern and comfortable.
Located in the heart of the Old town of Antibes we are close to all cafe's and restaurants. A one minute walk to Port Vauban, the home of the largest Mega Yacht marina in the Mediterranean. A couple of steps away from the famous Marche Provencal. Seconds to Salis beach.
We will meet and greet our guests. If you require any services information about local events, I am happy to help.p
We spent a wonderful 6 nights in Antibes, staying in this lovely "unit". We found it to be true to the pictures posted on the website...certainly the view is even more spectacular. I would suggest that if you want to visit the Riviera but don't want to do the big Monaco/Cannes/Nice thing, then Antibes is just beautiful. It's laid back and friendly and only a short train or bus ride from all those other places.
Caroles apartment is in the historic part of town....so pretty...amazingly so. It is right next to the local markets and groovy shopping streets. There is loads of good and not expensive eating places nearby, thouugh we cooked in alot. Even though the street that the apartment is in cannot be accessed by car (you have to see it to understand) the taxi can drop you just nearby and you are maybe 10 metres from the door. It is very secure, by the way.
The apartment is decorated in an artisticly modern style in sync with the seaside position. There is loads of light and air. We stayed in winter and the a/c kept the place toasty warm. The beds are super comfy. The tv is big and Carole has loads of dvds to use from her library. The wi-fi works well.
Carolita was SO friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. She was easy to contact by e-mail and text and was always on time.
There are stairs to enter the apartment and it is designed on three levels. The second bedroom is on the first level, the living and kitchen area on the second level, and then the main bedroom on third loft level. There is an ensuite bathroom from this main bedroom, which means that for the person staying in the second bedroom it is necessary to go the two levels and through the main bedroom to use the bathroom. We were a family of three and for us this was no problem at all. Certainly this is an ideal romantic location for two. If you are more than three perhaps you should check with Carole about access to the second bathroom and laundry, which is usually kept locked off.
Absolutely, when we return to Antibes, we will stay in this (email hidden)d we would stay longer. Location, comfort, value, cleanliness and a real sense of being a part of everything. Thankyou Carole for your hospitality!
We spent a marvellous week in this picturesque, tastefully decorated Apartment in The Old town of Antibes. We were the First ones to use the new balcony with a splendid sea- view. Carole was a kind, open- hearted host, who made us feel at ease. The location is great!
The apartment and host are both wonderful! Perfectly located in the center of Old Antibes, close to everything you need and a wonderful daily market. The house is beautifully decorated and has breath taking views. We didn't want to leave!
Carole met us at the market to show us the way. If you cannot find the address on the map, go the provancale market, gets you right where you need to be.
Great location and views. Really bad attitude and racist behaviour from the host.
For background, the flat has a loft bed over the kitchen and living area, with an ensuite shower room (the only loo available to guests). The second bedroom is down a flight of stairs, smallish and has no a/c. Sharing the en-suite can be a bit awkward for two couples, especially with a small child involved.
In spite of my informing the host at the time of making my booking that we were two couples travelling with a toddler, she encouraged me to book it. However the moment we arrived, she started warning us about her expensive possessions and decor (which were very tastefully selected actually), putting things away in front of us, warning us against using her spare towels - "this is not a hotel", she generally made us feel very unwelcome. We hardly used anything in the flat as a result, and cleaned the living room everyday.
The host had asked us to leave 2 hours before the last guests left (we didn't question this), but we were delayed by a few minutes on the day of departure, mainly because of the ensuite bathroom issue. The host arrived in the flat and began to berate us, shouting at us (with toddler present), being extremely dramatic - throwing things into the sink for example, making racist remarks (e.g. I've only ever had a problem with Czech people and Indian people), accused us of dirtying utensils we hadn't touched. She essentially made our last day in lovely Antibes very miserable indeed.
She seemed to think she had been very helpful and accommodating because she had recommended an alternative and expensive accommodation for our friends, on a day when she couldn't accommodate them (they arrived a day early). She had kindly offered and allowed them to leave their luggage at her other apartment for a few hours, but later blamed them for inconveniencing her. In general her behaviour was erratic and hostile, with flashes of cheery friendliness.
To be fair, she may have had an awful morning on our last day, and she did say a word of apology later on the phone, and did help by passing on some things that we had left there in our hurry to get out. But the difference in her behaviour over email and in person, and the overwhelmingly positive reviews here, and of course her openly racist behaviour, make me certain that she has some unfortunate prejudices, and should perhaps mention in her listing that brown skinned people are not welcome (although airbnb may be unable to allow that!)
Sarcasm aside, I would not recommend this listing to anyone, because my friemds and I were hurt and humiliated by the host's behaviour towards us, who were essentially her paying customers.
I am also seriously reconsidering my future use of airbnb because of this, because evidently race hate cannot be screened out.
You should write books !!! you have so much imagination!!
In view of all which described we can wonder who has a big problem of racism... I saw your picture when you made your request and I accepted it... And I don't think that at this moment you were white.... The blacks, the yellow, the whites, (the greens for our Martian friends;-), it makes no difference.. But disrespectful and agressives people which we offer a nice holydays and services, then yes, we appreciated them much less... I wish nobody to find his own house in the state that they left our after their departure... I was so upset because I take care so much of my place...
Well, after more than 35 guests coming from the whole world in our house during one year, I had only two bad experiences.....
Then, thank you again to all those people that we really love and who love us and thank you to Airbnb!
Perfect location in a cute part of the ancient Antibes - simply the best!!! A very warm and welcoming host who gave us very good hints on where to go or eat. The only point I would make is the only bathroom available upstairs right behind the bed for the ones who use the other bedroom...
But if you live with that you have the best of the best And - don't wreck it, we want to come back!!! -;)
Carole speaks french, english And spanish and even presented us to her family! In other words - go and try !!!
Carole met us that Marche Provencal and walked us to the apartment, showing us restaurants and shops along the way that would be of interest to us. The apartment had a spectacular view of the Med sea and the location was very convenient. We had an opportunity to shop for fresh food at the market and cooked a homemade meal - a refreshing change of pace from restaurant eating.
The only drawback with the apartment was the location of the only bathroom on the loft level. We're a family of 4 and my teenage boys had to go up 2 flights of stairs to use the bathroom from their bedroom. Perhaps this arrangement wouldn't be great for younger kids.
All in all, we had a great stay in Antibes and recommend Carole's place and her hospitality.
Gorgeous flat, exactly as on the pictures and in the other reviews. Due to its perfect location in the old town, everything is accessible and yet the building+flat are quiet. It was so pleasant that we would stay in for breakfast and take advantage of the beautiful view. The owner was very helpful and patient despite some changes in our arrival and departure times. The only potential issue to be aware of in case several people are staying in the flat, is the fact that the bathroom is upstairs in the mezzanine area. Everything in the flat works very well, wireless, TV/DVD etc...
My name is Carole, I presently live in the apartment with my husband and my son.
I work at Sea as a Chef and my Husband works at sea as a Yacht Captain. I love to Dance Salsa and speak spanish to my latin friends. I have lots of energy and a ton of creativity. My son Pablo spends his summers with his grandparents while we are away. I love my apartment and I am sure you will love it as well.
