The Space

Imagine a quiet, spacious apartment, with beautiful sunlight, just steps from the terrific restaurants and shops of this wonderful neighborhood. Near many subway stops (including the R train 1/2 block away), easy to get to Manhattan; four blocks from Prospect Park; near to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Museum. You'll have the best of both worlds: you'll be in a fun, hip, laid-back neighborhood, but close to the sights and action of Manhattan!

The apartment is a duplex with two large bedrooms, two full baths, terrace, fully stocked kitchen, dw, wi-fi.

Note: On dates the apartment is marked unavailable on the calendar, one bedroom/bath in the apartment often is available (view my related listing, "Sunny, Large, Park Slope Bedroom"). You would be sharing the place with me - and my cat.

Extended stays and a willingness to take care of my wonderful cat yield a discount!

I'd greatly appreciate it if you would make an inquiry so we can e-chat for a bit before sending an offer. Thanks!

  • We had a wonderful time in Liz's apartment. It was comfortable, spacious, clean - and we felt right at home. Liz was super responsive and so easy to deal with. The neighborhood was lovely as well. And we enjoyed Allie :-). We'd definitely stay there again!

  • Staying at Elizabeth's place in Park Slope was the first time I have ever used Airbnb. From the very first inquiry I made until the day I was leaving was an absolute delight.
Elizabeth was very quick to respond and easy to touch base with. My friend and I were able to spend time with her sweet cat while she was away while also enjoying the home away from home feeling during our visit.
The photos certainly do not do the house justice. The view in the morning was amazing. The water pressure is lovely, the house was so clean and easy to move around in. Transportation to and from the city and different neighborhoods in Brooklyn was easy.
I hope to stay in touch with her and visit again.

  • Liz's home met our needs perfectly, being in close proximity to Manhattan but without the crowds. As a runner, I appreciated it being a few blocks from Prospect Park. As a family, it has the feeling of being at home without the confines of a hotel room and having the secure street entry door gave my wife extra peace of mind. All of her recommendations were spot on, including restaurants and even the car service. Liz was very communicative and provided helpful feedback for any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and given the opportunity, would use her flat again.

  • Elizabeth's apartment is quite nice, it comes equipped with two large bedrooms, one with a private bathroom, a big living room and a fully equipped kitchen. Both rooms and the living room have big windows that let in a lot of light. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and the subway I'd right on the corner (R line). With only one stop you're in Atlantic avenue station, where you can connect with many other lines.
The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of some noise from the upstairs apartment. It seems that some children live there and we could sometimes hear they running around. It wasn't overbearing but it did wake me up than I wanted to one morning, so I reckon it's worth one star. Apart from that me and my friends had a nice stay and Elizabeth's personally was very sweet and easy to deal with.

  • Liz was very responsive to each of my email inquiries, including following-up once we were actually in the apartment. This is a wonderful space to serve as a launching point for Manhattan or a home base to relax with Allie the Cat!

  • This is an excellent apartment. Great location, convenient to Prospect Park, Carrol Gardens and all the transport you need. Super attentive owner.

  • Our family of 4 adults spent a fantastic long weekend celebrating a milestone occasion in NYC, staying at Liz's apartment as our home base. The apartment is immaculate, spacious, situated in a great location close to the subway, great restaurants and all the basic conveniences. Liz was a gracious host, warmly sharing her home with us. Her neighbors are friendly and street parking was relatively easy to find. And Allie, her cat, was a welcoming added bonus!

  • My family flew in from England and had the apartment for a week and loved it! It's perfectly situated in Park Slope Brooklyn half a block away from the subway and in a very safe neighborhood, the apartment itself was great, very spacious and comfortable. Anyone thinking of coming to NY would be silly to pay the price for a hotel when you can have all the comforts of home at more than half the price. Would highly recommend Liz's apartment to anyone who wants to be near NYC. World trade center, Macy's, Time Square and Central Park are all on the train line less than a block away, no need to even transfer to other trains. And the neighborhood was wonderful with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants there was even an English bar a few blocks away!, Liz was great, any questions we had were promptly answered and Allie the cat was so cute, All in all a great place to stay a great location and would go back for sure.

  • We stayed at Elizabeth's apartment for 10 days and had a wonderful time. Elizabeth is kind and helpful - and the communication was great. Also, the location of the apartment, very close to 5th avenue, was very convenient. We would definitely recommend this!

About
In truth, I started with airbnb to bring in some additional funds. In reality, I never knew this could be so much fun! I love meeting people from all over the states and all over the world, including Croatia, Germany, Israel and Vermont! If you're renting one bedroom from me, my bedroom/bathroom are upstairs, so you'll see me around breakfast; but, I work a lot and want you to feel like the place is your own - to enjoy the tv/stereo in the living room, to cook meals in the kitchen, and to come and go without feeling like you need to check in. At the same time, if you need anything from me, please let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen! If you're renting the full place, I know you will enjoy your yourselves. The apartment is big (even by non-NYC standards); comfortable, but not pretentious. And, of course, there's Allie the cat, who is totally sweet and very people-friendly (though, sadly, she doesn't like other critters). Let me know if you have questions. I'll be happy to host you!
