The Space

Beautiful home with a work area and hang out lounge.

3 bedrooms - 1 private room and 2 shared rooms
2 full bathrooms

Guest Access

All utilities are included and the WIFI is fast!

Clean linens/bedding are provided + a fresh towel.

Why would someone say light cooking? Home prepped meals really warms up the house and it's encouraged.

Interaction with Guests

It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.

We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout. Remember that work, musical instruments and books take precedence over the television.

The Neighborhood

This is the most laid back version of my HackerHomes - away from the busy streets of San Francisco and walkable to the beach. Located in a quiet residential area, but a short walk to restaurants, transportation and a neighborhood grocery store.

The restaurants in this neighborhood are delicious: Toyose, Devil's Teeth and Outerlands.

For the neighborhood guidebook, go to the following listing, then click on the maps tab:

Getting around

Easy access to transportation, parks and bike trails. The N Judah is 2 blocks away and takes you to most places in San Francisco.

Too tired to walk? We have bikes you can use that will swiftly get you places fast!

Other Things to Note

More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.

Respectful Housing for Women
Females in a separate room. If you'd like to stay in the girls' room, please check with me on availability before reserving. If you don't have a preference, then just make your reservation.

The Airbnb cleaning fee is to make sure you have a clean bed upon arrival and not to clean up after you. All spaces are shared, so please be mindful of picking up after yourself. If you're a longer term guest, remember to use one bath towel and wash it with your own load of laundry.

Check In
  • Vic is an excellent host and the hostels he has created offer a very safe and friendly environment. He cares a lot about the community and goes out of his way to help his residents connect. For example, he organizes monthly BBQs and demos to give the residents a chance to showcase projects they've been working on and connect with each other. Initially I had only booked 5 nights, but liked living at the hostel so much that I extended my stay to a month and a half -- in fact, this is not very uncommon, and many residents end up staying at the hostel for weeks, if not months. I didn't really know what to expect from the place, but I found new close friends as well as my now business partner!

  • Good times. Fun location. I found a lot of fun places around here. Strange part of the city, but I liked it a lot. It was something that I signed up for that I knew was definitely out of my comfort zone. But I wanted to do it for that reason. It was great. When I was there every single bed was full and I came in at late hours of the night and it was all good. If you're looking for a good value and he might even make some friends. I would say it's more for a 30-year-old and under crowd. At least that was what it felt like when I was there. Thanks again.

  • Can't recommend HackerHome Sunset enough, it was a lovely place to stay, near the ocean, good connection for public transport, nice people there, Vic is super awesome host. If you want to take a break from cold weather, or want to explore, if you don't mind that you are surrounded by other travelers, dreamers with different kind of attitudes, this is your place to be.;)
