appleturnover farm is quietly famous for a peaceful immersion in simple, sustainable living, set in 1 ½ acres of permaculture gardens+ heritage orchards with ducks, chickens, geese + goats. whether you're a fan of the films on youtube + ig or long for a rustic glamping farm stay that offers a taste of how we can live in a 'small farm future', you'll find your slow stay complete with compost toilet, summer kitchen, solar shower, root cellar, a rooster to wake to + the real beauty of farm life.

Guest access
the blue studio at the very back of the farm is all yours, including the garden sink, the root cellar where you can keep your cooler extra cool, the compost toilet out back, the wood stove for a fire in the evenings and, in sunny weather, an outdoor solar shower.

feel free to explore and hang out around the whole farm with the exception of the farmhouse, patio and tiny blue house.

relax with the geese in the shady apple orchard, go sit and watch the ducks in the pond, visit chicks at the henhouse, help put the ducks back into the duckhouse at choretime, and say hello to the goats at the barn — these two, pip and jem, are your next door neighbours, and the quietest ones you could wish for save when they spot elisa for their afternoon walk. peek at them through the windows by your bedside to spot them snoozing or grazing their hay.

the goats are master escape artists so ask us if you'd like to come in and pet them! elisa does a goat walk most days so will be in and out of the barn next to the studio of an afternoon. we can chat ♡

look near the door for a jar of sunflower seeds that you can feed to all the animals!

Other things to note
appleturnover is located centrally on salt spring island, 5 minutes cycle to st mary's lake, 10 minutes walk to the cinema and 15 minutes cycle to the village, and you can stop by the upper ganges food hub on your way.

please note, our solar shower is fairweather! we like jumping in the lake (it's very clean, a reservoir!) too.
