Ubud, a town in central Bali, is far removed from the drunken bikini scene in Kuta, and is regarded as the cultural centre of Bali. It is famous as an arts and crafts hub, and much of the town and nearby villages seems to consist of artists' workshops and galleries. There are some remarkable architectural and other sights to be found, and a general feeling of well being to be enjoyed, all thanks to the spirit, surroundings, and climate of the place.
Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you're visiting Bali; if you're looking for culture, comfort, nature and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -- scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers, cheap accommodation and unique luxury hotels. And it's central location makes it easy to get from Ubud to the mountains, beaches, and major towns.
Interaction with Guests
If you stay in my villa , me or Wayan will always try to meet and explain you about Ubud and also help you to organize you trip in Bali. Most of the time Wayan will be available to do your tour in Bali for the reasonable price .
Our new hidden place such us the archaeological heritage a long and between the Pakerisan and Petanu river is the place that my guest should visit, as the government just launched those place as new destination, which means there will be less tourist than Ubud .
To get around Bali you can rent car with driver for USD $ 50-USD $ 60 /day including patrol, it is depending where and how far you would like to go or to rent USD $ 5 / motorbike, than you can really explore Bali. Please take note that you should not rent motorbikr if you not use to it, as if you hace accedent in Bali the ambulance system is not yet working well
Other Things to Note
Silent Day Rules...........
What happening on the 31th March.............
Bali's Day of Silence "Nyepi" 2014
Saka New Year 1936 of Hindus
Dear Valued guests,
The Balinese Hindus do not celebrate the coming of the new year of Saka calendar with lavish party; they celebrate it with meditation instead. No activities are allowed to take place. These mandatory religious prohibitions include no pleasure (amati lelangon), no traffic (amati lelungan), no fire (amati geni) and no work (amati karya).
This year, Nyepi Day falls on 31 March 2014.
On Nyepi Day, we will not be able to accept any check-in nor check-out throughout the day.
We notice that you will be staying with us during Nyepi Day, kindly be informed of the below situations during Nyepi Day:
The silence begins at 0:00 am of 31 March 2014 and will go on until the next 24 hours
All shops are closed on Nyepi Day
Guests has to stay inside the resort area
When listening to the music or watching TV in the villa, keep the sound at minimum level
There will be no traffic on that day in the whole Bali island
Ngurah Rai airport will be totally closed on 31 March 2014, so there will be neither arrival nor departure in the airport on that day. All connecting airports around the globe have been informed in advance about this.
Across Bali, the activities are allowed only in emergency rooms and maternity section of hospitals and the arrival section of airport. Any emergencies are taken into consideration and tolerated. The whole island is in silence.
However, operational activities and services in the resort will operate normally.
The Balinese are quite open and generally welcome visitors. You can enter most temples freely. Wear a sash around waist and preferably a Sarong.
Big temples can hire a sarong at the front gate but nice to have your own. You can buy a sarong in Ubud market.
Woman who are menstruating must wait out side the temple.
If you visit a holy spring like Pura Tirtha Empul and decided to try bathing, keep your cloth on and leave the shampoo behind. it is not a bath, but an immersion on holy water. for spiritual cleansing.
Expect to pay a small donation before entering a temple. This donations are put to good use and help with the upkeep of the grounds and the temple itself.....
Great house, larger than it looks on the images. It was neat and clean. We enjoyed our stay. Sadly the wifi wasn't good enough for us, I need wifi to work, but it was good enough for regular use. Expect around 0.5-0.7 Mbit/s, thats pretty normal in Bali. There was also a few ants, but that is also pretty normal in Ubud.
But the hosts where great, and the breakfast was very good. They did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.
The" great new house..", aka manuaba inn was a complete and pleasant surprise. We had a beautiful little house in the back of the complex. so quiet in bustling Uud, but so close to the main drag. our host was a wonderful accommodating lady. The Bali breakfast she prepared for us ( we request traditional meal) was unmatched. no question, I would stay here again.
Nice place to relax on Ubud, the bungalows are in the middle of a beautiful balineese garden, outside kitchen and big terasses. The rooms are clean and confortable, but in ours some fourmies were falling down from the rooftop, directly in our bed ! Not very disturbing, anyway you are in Bali :) The staff is nice and will help if needed
