Gary and Eileen were perfect hosts. When we arrived, the place was spotlessly clean, there was beer in the fridge, and there were pamplets and booklets on the table with things to do and places to see. The neighborhood was nice and quite, but also a great location. The kitchen was stocked so that we could cook, the wifi worked perfectly, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Gary was nice enough to stop by and share his local knowledge with us. We definitely recommend staying here.
This was my first time in California and first air b and b stay for the week. I must say, Gary and Eileen set the bar really really high! Their home was absolutely beautiful and even prettier in person! Very cozy and comfortable. Gary checked in on us to make sure everything was ok but pretty much let us relax and enjoy our vacation. I liked that they were close by and made themselves available if we needed anything. I'm already planning a return trip and hope I can stay with them again!
Gary and Eileen's place in Sonoma is a perfect place to stay! It provided us with the relaxing vacation that we were wanting. It was easy to get to all the wineries and restaurants. Very comfortable and spacious place. I was nervous at first about it being above there garage, but it was nice and I would definitely stay with them and recommend it to others in the future. No complaints at all! Thank you for your hospitality.
It was really a comfortable roomy Sonoma apartment! It was more spacious and looked better than in the photos.
We enjoyed everyday of those 14 days we stayed there. Gary and Eileen welcomed us the next day and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. They even let us use their washer and dryer in the garage, their bikes and their food in the fridge and pantry! They attended to all our concerns especially when we accidentally left the keys inside the house - Eileen left us the duplicate by the door as soon as she got my message. On our last day, Gary helped us carry our luggages to our car ( we had 3 big ones!). He also signed me up as his guest in a nearby gym.
We will definitely recommend their apartment to anyone visiting Sonoma and Napa!
Thank you Gary and Eileen for making our stay in Sonoma a very comfortable and wonderful experience!
Great experience, and a perfect place to stay in Sonoma. We were only in town for two days, but it was great to have a two-bedroom apartment to ourselves. Gary stopped by shortly after we arrived to welcome us and provide some local information. Unexpected were the many thoughtful amenities: cold beer in the fridge, coffee and creamer, etc. All those things you would normally have to go out and buy were already there. We would strongly recommend staying here and we hope to return for a longer visit.
We had a great weekend! The accommodations were comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Great windows and natural light...I would have liked to stay in all day and read. Check-in, etc. was all very easy, and the rental had everything we needed, including kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.
This was an excellent choice for us, just what we were hoping for as a private apartment located in a nice and relatively quiet residential neighborhood of Sonoma. We had a rental car and were visiting the wine country for two days in late March. Gary and Eileen's apartment is very clean, actually spic-and-span, very comfortable, homey, well-furnished, light and airy feel to it, good windows, completely private (on second floor above a garage, owners/hosts live in larger house right next door. Very quiet and peaceful location, the only traffic noise was from road outside in morning around 7:00am and around 5:30 in evening with cars going to work or coming home from it, not all that noticeable with windows closed. Nice cozy and private spaces to sit outside at the back of the house, both upstairs and down. Gary came over from next door to introduce himself and ask if there was anything we needed soon after we arrived. Excellent firm mattress beds, two bedrooms, both with double or queen sized beds. Well equipped kitchen, good large cable TV in living room above a working fireplace with wood (we didn't use it, not cold enough in nice sunny weather) with nice couch to sit on in front of fireplace and TV. Very good temperature control for heat or AC. Owners generously provided good orange juice. The only two things that we missed having were a ceramic tea pot for brewing our morning tea (there is a tea kettle for boiling water) and a DVD player. [To be fair, the TV service does include access to a large list of on demand movies but I think many of them were pay per view and most of them not of interest to us; for people who carry their own DVD movies, a DVD player would be a reasonable addition.] About a mile and a half distance from the central square of Sonoma, some stores and restaurants were maybe half a mile away. We much preferred staying in Sonoma to Napa Valley locations, much less touristy. Wonderful old-fashioned one screen movie theater (Sebastiani) and some very fine gourmet restaurants on the square. This apartment would be a fine choice for a longer stay. Hosts have done a great job in furnishing it, maintaining it. There is an exterior staircase at back of house up to the apartment that might be difficult for folks who have trouble with stairs but that is clearly stated in description. Photos give a very accurate picture of what to expect, this place is actually even nicer in "feel" than the photos would indicate. Bathroom was very clean and everything worked well. We would be happy to return to stay here and would love to do so; if we had a week or longer to stay, this would most likely still be our choice. Thanks, Gary and Eileen.
