✔ Ruby Slipper (2-minute drive; 15-minute walk): Known for their undying love of brunch, this is the perfect stop for a late-morning bloody mary and some of the best biscuits you’ll ever have.
✔ CoastAL (3-minute drive): This versatile restaurant serves up breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, AND drinks, all with an elevated-yet-laid-back style that we, personally, love. Roll up to the bar for a quick bite, or sit down and enjoy a feast of ahi tuna poke nachos, oysters on the half shell, or your favorite combo of seafood, burgers, and delicious bites!
✔ City Donut (4-minute drive): Hit up this local fave for freshly-baked donuts, an ice cold boba tea, or some after-dinner ice cream. We know you already have “visit the beach” on your summer vacation itinerary–and with our local white sands and great vibes, visiting the beach is a *must*! If you’re looking for a little something else to add to your vacation agenda, here are a few local happenings that we definitely recommend:
✔ Shark Fest 2026: Explore collections of shark bones and teeth, get up close and personal with rays in the touch tank, and hear what experts have to say about shark conservation at this one-of-a-kind event. From face painting to educational crafts to in-depth live shark dissections, there’s something here for every marine enthusiast!

✔ Flora-Bama 4th of July Party: There’s no party like a Flora-Bama party, and with live music and beachfront fireworks, the 4th of July party is no exception! Treat yourself to a Bushwhacker, celebrate with a few rounds of oysters, and settle in for a nice long night of dancing + celebrating.

✔ 4th of July at The Wharf: It’s always hoppin’ at The Wharf, but on the 4th of July, the usual festivities get turned up a notch. Starting at 5pm, you’ll find kids’ activities, fireworks, light-up palm trees, a drone show, and a SPECTRA laser light show. As always, nearby restaurants and shops will keep your group entertained all night!

✔ Blue Marlin Grand Championship of the Gulf: Famously known as “The Greatest Show in Sportsfishing,” this extravaganza showcases some of the biggest + most impressive catches you can find this side of the Mississippi. While you’re waiting for weigh-ins to begin at The Wharf, you can grab a sweet treat at Kilwins, enjoy a patio dinner at Villaggio, or get some *serious* shopping done!

✔ Navy Blue Angels Practice: Now through October, you might catch a glimpse of the Blue Angels zooming through the sky! That’s enough to add a lot of excitement to any trip, but if you really want to get the full experience, we recommend a day trip out to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. On select days of the year, open bleacher seating is available for visitors to get a special look at a 55-minute practice session.
