This top floor three bedroom apartment in this three story was a gem to find. Completely renovated two years ago and my friend and I were the first to snatch it up and have loved it ever since.
The apartment also has a great roof accessed from our apartment that has great sunset views of Manhattan. (See photos, you can also smoke up here.)
You'll have access to the kitchen to use as you wish (but do your dishes! :)
I'm a creative director and my room mate, a web developer are social and personable. My roommate Roman is far more the chatty type than me though, I tend to work a lot and when I'm home I'm usually recharging unless I have friends over in which case I'm more bubbly. He's in the living room playing PS3 and playing his guitar and relaxing after work a lot more often.
Williamsburg is amazing. Anyone who has lived in NYC for awhile can tell you there is an immediate difference in the energy of this place to Manhattan. It feels more neighborhoody, people are friendly and there's a creative vibe everywhere. You can't go into a bar or restaurant without bumping into designers, photographers, musicians, painters, web developer and the list goes on and on. There is music everywhere and lots of cheap drinks for the hipster crowd. It's a fantastic neighborhood.
The J, M & Z trains are less than five minutes and cross the Williamsburg bridge into Manhattan at the Lower East Side and its only 1 stop. The L and G trains are four minutes walk the opposite direction. The G train goes primarily south towards greater Brooklyn while the L crosses under the river into Manhattan at the East Village and is 2 stops. So in 15 minutes your in Manhattan door to door.
When you confirm the room the airbnb guide we completed has our favorite restaurants nearby, fun places we like to go, music and bars that we've done plenty of personal research to find. Guests that have checked out the restaurants in particular have really been pleased.
We've had a handful of people who are new to being guests through Airbnb and I think its important to know several things. The heat is via radiators since the building is traditional brick three story so can be uneven, so we've added a safe electrical heater in the room and guests have said its more than adequate to get the room toasty hot. Additionally, we want to emphasize the apartment is a living space. We have friends over for dinner parties, relax in the living room playing PS3 after work. It's not a hotel. Also, smoking is permitted out the window in the living room but not the rental room.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS: If you are interested in the room you can expect a response very quickly between 10:00am-7:00 pm my time, a few people were sad they booked with others before they heard from me but it was 4am my time when it came in and I'm not checking my email til about 10 am daily and then as often in the evening. Just to let you know.

Highly recommended! I had a great stay with Martin and his roommate Roman. They were both extremely friendly and made me feel entirely welcome; both great hosts. The location was amazing and the apartment was classic Brooklyn but very clean and the flowers in my room were a great touch.
I had a good stay with Martin Eaton. The location is great, safe and for my purpose very central.
We had a great stay in Williamsburg with Martin and Roman. A nice room, great location, good facilities. Martin and Roman were very friendly, helpful and patient when we had any questions etc... We also got some good tips from them for things to do in the area - we recommend a stay!
My girlfriend and I had a lovely time staying with Martin in Williamsburg. We mainly used the apartment as a base so weren't there much but when we saw Martin he was courteous and recommended some great restaurants. The location is really convenient and apartment exactly as advertised, views from roof are lovely.
Stayed at Martin's for a week, and it was in a great location. Never had trouble getting home late at night and felt safe coming from the trains which were only moments away. Lots of cool venues around if you're into the music scene too and the East Village was super quick to get to for more trendy venues. Thanks also Martin, for letting me store my bags on check-out day until my annoying late flight and confirming my booking 2 days before I arrived. Overall, great stay in NY - I recommend this area over any Manhattan joints anytime!
Wonderful Williamsburg!! Great place to stay. Martin was very helpful and let us stay an extra night. Although we did not see him much he made us feel welcome. His flat mate Roman is very cool. He showed us around, the neighborhood and joined us for a few drinks. Will definitely stay here in the future.
The apartment is in a great location, just a 5 minutes walk to the L line, which takes you directly into Manhattan within a few minutes. We didn´t see a lot of Martin, but of his roommate, who is a very welcoming and kind person. He took us to bars and clubs and showed us his favorite places in Williamsburg to go out. We had a fantastic time!
Awesome location + awesome flatmates = awesome stay.
Really nice and friendly atmosphere, I felt like home since I arrived.
Many good places in the neighborhood for food and concerts.
My girlfriend and I stayed with Martin for 5 day on our first trip to NYC and had a blast! Him and his roommate were the ideal hosts. they were both very respectful and professional but still very warm and friendly. We really didn't see a whole lot of them but everytime we did cross paths, it was a real treat!
His location is absolutely perfect. The metro is so close that we were able to enjoy the entire city super easily. There is so much within walking distance too! And the rooftop view is so awesome. The photos don't do it justice at all.
I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the city. They really made me feel right at home!
Simone and I were in Martin's apartment for 6 days during our trip in the US. We didn't see much Martin because he was busy working, but the communication with him has always been excellent and Martin is kind and available. The location is very convenient to visit
Manhattan, because the subway is 5 minutes walk.
The room was ok, however we are used to higher standards of
cleanliness, mainly in the bathroom.
Simone and Illaria were very friendly and we were glad to host them. The apartment and bathroom were cleaned the day they arrived and they requested it be cleaned again after three days of regular use and I just didn't have time. The entire apartment is cleaned the day of or before guests arrive and then not again until after they leave.
