This beautiful room in downtown Santa Barbara is in a classic 20's Victorian home. The home is only three blocks away from the center of downtown Santa Barbara, walking distance to plenty of restaurants, shopping, bars, the beach and the wharf.
You have a private bedroom with a full size bed and private full bathroom for your use during your stay, as well as use of the common areas, including: spacious living room with comfy couches, front patio with seating and a BBQ, dining area with plenty of seating, breakfast bar, modern kitchen, a home office if you need to do some work, and access to a washer and dryer. The bedroom also has a full-length mirror, a luggage stand, and easy access to plugs for charging your electronics.
If needed, a private parking space may be made available on request. Otherwise, there is plenty of free street parking around the neighborhood, though please beware of the parking restrictions for street cleaning on Wed and Thurs mornings.
Interaction with Guests
I lead a generally active lifestyle and am sometimes only home briefly. If our paths cross, I'd love to hear what brought you to Santa Barbara and would be more than happy to provide recommendations. In some cases, due to my work and social schedule, we may not get a chance to meet in person at all.
The lower west side of Santa Barbara (called the west side because it's west of State St, although still east of the freeway) is a great location central to everything. Walk a few blocks to the east and you're in the middle of the main thoroughfare, State St -- packed with shopping, restaurants, bars, wine tasting, historical landmarks, and more. About a mile south and you're at the beach, in between Stearns Wharf and the harbor where you'll find some great food, amazing views, and interesting sights.
Anything can be walking distance from here, but if you'd like to bring a bike, there is space to lock it up in the back. There is also a trolley that runs the length of state street, plenty of cabs, and Uber is also available in Santa Barbara.
No smoking. Other than that, the only real rule I have is to treat my home with the respect you would treat your own and be conscious of my neighbors that live upstairs and next door.
Please try to be quiet during the hours of 10pm to 10am due to my neighbors sleeping schedule. Their bedroom is above the living room, so keep that in mind when in the common area and when coming/going from the home.
Never actually met Ryan! But communication was great, able to enter the home via passcode and come and go as we pleased. Room is comfy but quite small. Bathroom was clean. Location is great with easy parking.
Just as described! Ryan's place is the ultimate spot for a lovely weekend in Santa Barbara. Ryan was away for the two days I spent there but he left everything that could have been needed in plain sight (i.e. iron/ironing board and blow dryer). From the amazing porch swings to the great bathroom, the place itself is paradise. Add to that the location--a stones trow to State street, just a few blocks more to the funk zone and right down to the beach--you really cannot beat Ryan's place.
For the price, the location and the hospitality, I couldn't recommend this listing more!
We had such a good experience that we requested to stay again. We appreciated Ryan's attention to detail to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Great home. Great location. Ten stars!
The perfect location if you plan to walk Santa Barbara and wish to be within walking distance of the wharf and funk zone. A charming, clean home with the loveliest verandah in a safe neighbourhood. We slept well as quiet at night. Ryan was so helpful and the directions for entering the property were clear and everything was just so easy. We enjoyed our stay so much we wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Excellent, comfortable accommodations. I enjoyed my stay and the convenience of being so close to town.
Ryan was an excellent host and thought of everything a guest could possibly need while staying over.
Really nice to meet you Ryan. Hope to stay at your place again sometime in the future.
Ryan was very responsive to email and texts. It was simple to find the place, park and get situated. I really loved the location as it was close to down town and the home was very nice and comfortable. Ryan was also kind of to provide some advice to make my trip even better. This was my first AirBnB experience and Ryan made it awesome. His home and its ammenities was a really good value and he was a great host
I've lived in SB for over 8 years and work for software startup called RightScale. I frequently enjoy beach volleyball and other sports, as well as camping and lake trips in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
