  • This was a great first Airbnb experience for me. The house and accommodations were very clean and neat. It was only a 20-minute walk from the capitol building. I was out and about a lot, but got to talk to Som a little bit. Super nice guy and very friendly. Absolutely no problems with this stay and I feel more comfortable about using Airbnb again. I hope all of my experiences are like this.

  • Som's place was ideal to set a base in Madison as it's very close to the capitol, UW campus and everything that the downtown area has to offer. The process of accessing the house was extremely easy and having a parking spot was a welcome amenity. The room is exactly as described and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Som' s place to anyone visiting the Madison area.

  • Lovely! This is a very clean and well kept home. The room is very comfortable and Shelby's a sweetie. Communication was flawless and Som was (website hidden)---there is a public bike share just down the street! It only takes a few mins to bike down to the Capitol or UW campus. A good spot.

  • Som was a great host who arranged everything nicely and precisely before our arriving. We had several interesting conversations during the stay and Som gave us several good suggestions for hanging around the city of Madison.

In General, our stay in Som's place was free and comfortable. The room was clean as he describes and everything we need are easily accessible.

  • I can't say enough good things about my stay with Som. The location is great (on various bus routes, and within walking distance of campus/the square/State St), the house is well-kept and Som is a wonderful host. I had plenty of privacy, was able to use the well-stocked kitchen to cook some of my meals and had a great time hanging out with Som's adorable dog, Shelby. I was a bit nervous about trying Airbnb (this was my first stay) but my experience was so positive that I'm sure I'll be using it again!

  • I had a very pleasant stay at Som's. He was a very courteous host and was kind enough to make me some nice Pancakes too for me. His place is nice and quite and a walk from the center of the city. His pet Shelby is also a quite and peaceful dog. No barking what so ever. I would gladly stay there again :)

  • Everything was clean and comfortable! My girlfriend was happy, so I'm a happy customer and I'd recommend it to a friend.

Som has a great cute vintage house just a 5 minute drive (if that) to downtown Madison, walking distance to some very cool stuff on Williamson street, and close to bike trails and bike lanes that also go right downtown. Getting keys was easy, and Som's dog is very quiet and a total sweetheart.

Only thing to note--if you take the room without a private bath, your room is on the second floor and the bath is on the first. There's tons of closet space in the room if you pack a lot.

  • Thanks to Som and Shelby, my first trip to Madison and first stay in an air bnb was delightful! Shelby greeted me sweetly at the door and Som had everything ready with fresh sheets and bath towels, and a warm place to relax from the chilly winter weather. It was easy to walk a short distance to the major bus routes. I found everything to be accessible from his location. My time in Madison was too short and when I return, I will be contacting Som!

  • My girlfriend and I came to Madison for a couple days to explore the city and really enjoyed our stay with Som. Som was a very friendly and accommodating host (as was his sweet dog, Shelby!), and his house was very clean and comfortable. Our initial bus trip to Madison was cancelled due to weather, and Som was very understanding and communicative when we had to adjust our stay. The house is very conveniently located on a quiet street, close to downtown and a couple of major bus routes. I'd definitely recommend staying here!

About
I've lived in Madison for over 10 years now and absolutely love it. Madison is the only city in the world built on an ishtmus (the strip of land between two lakes), and I'm fortunate enough to live on that isthmus. By profession I am a project manager and business analyst. I've spent the last 6 years helping to design and implement IT systems projects for insurance companies around Madison. I recently received my MBA from the UW-Madison. In my personal time I love play league volleyball, explore Madison's amazing restaurant scene, and to volunteer with my local Rotary club. My dog Shelby has been my companion for nearly 10 years now. She was a handful as a puppy, but has grown into a gentle and calm old girl. I walk several miles a day with her rain or shine, and I love that she keeps me active.
