Welcome to a very special - around 200 hundred years old house which is located in the Old Town of Tbilisi. It has typical old Tbilisi type of small balconies and cute little garden. The first owner of the house was famous Armenian writer Khachatur Aboviani and a street is named like that as a honor to him.
The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and all the comfort you need to stay there. By staying here you will have the chance to enjoy the environment around - views of Georgian houses and surroundings from its large windows and street balconies.
The local area offers a wide range of restaurants & pubs and a lot of entertainment, all major historical sights, such as sulfur baths, the Botanical Garden, the street Chardonnay which is a main street where local Georgians and travelers go for entertainment, nightlife and leisure.
Currently, house has very hospitable and friendly owner and his name is - Lasha, he also lives in the house with his family, they are ready to host from 1 up to 10 people.
Normally, 1 or 2 person can be hosted in each room, but in case of child, extra baby-bed will be arranged. Inside of the house there are central heating, fire-place, big and well equipped kitchen and dining room with lots of sun light and all other small details for comfortable stay.
Lasha is a tour guide, so he can arrange trips for you in any destination in Georgia.
Airport transfer and breakfast are available on request.
Lasha and his family are looking forward to have you as their guests and to make you feel at home during your stay.
This is a lovely, chatcerful homely family run house run by Milena and Lasha. Rooms are simple (single beds), clean and comfortable and the shared bathrooms actually feel like your own anyway. The kitchen is a central hub with constant tea and coffee being offered - just like home. Very little English is spoken but this wasn't an issue as they simply bent over backwards to accommodate. Lasha also acts as a local tour guide and gave a brilliant full day trip to kazbegi including jeep transfers and sights along the way. He even then sorted the train tickets for onward travel into Armenia Milena and Lasha are a great example of the infamous warm Georgian hospitality. If you want a slice of home in Caucasus, stay here!
Had a pleasant time at the Koiava House. The family was very welcoming and despite the language barrier (hint: iTranslate and other translation apps), did everything to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was simple but clean. The facilities were modern (Kitchen, 2 bathrooms). The family sometimes hung around in the common room, but you never felt like bothering or invading their space and vice-versa. They even organised a tour outside of Tbilisi, which was much appreciated. A hospitable family that deserves praise for their effort. You can see that this additional income goes a long way to improve their self-sufficiency.
We were welcomed with tea and shisha even though our flights arrived early in the morning.
A slightly grotty entrance way leads to a modern apartment, basic bedrooms and nice bathroom. We only stayed for one night and for that it suited us fine.
Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice and our hostess willingly made phone calls for us, and brought us a plate of fresh fruit each evening. This was a lovely introduction to Georgian hospitality.
