The lodge was wonderful! Relaxing, private and Carlos went out of his way to help us with anything we needed or any questions we had about what to do with our time. He also arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport (200bp) and again to take us back. Wifi was pretty good, hot water, hammocks and fresh fruits from the trees. Carlos speaks good English and can help translate between the others.
The food was AMAZING!! We opted for the full board but with the amount you are served 1/2 board would have been plenty. Just bring some snacks, drinks, etc with you when you go because there is nowhere around to shop.

We HIGHLY recommend staying here!
The stay with Chiquitin was a highlight of our trip in Bolivia. It is amazingly located in the middle of the regional park of Lomas De Arena where desert meets rain forest. You have to k now that Chiquitin built his farm and the two houses including the decorations all by himself! He is full of stories and the kindest person. We were able to do some bird watching, walk to the desert, and played with the dogs and cats. I highly recommend the meals cooked by Evelyn. For lunch we had Bolivian style Paella and for dinner we had roast chicken with rice. We wish we could stay with Chiquitin longer. It's such a beautiful setting and we felt very much at home. My wife even asked Chiquitin to get a cake for my birthday. Thank you very much Chiquitin. Jason
Chiquitin and Evaline are great hosts. The cottage is very clean and cozy and the surrounding garden is beautiful and buzzing with birds and butterflies. Evaline's cooking is amazing. You will leave a few pounds heavier and with a happy well rested heart. Chiquitin was very helpful and accommodating. He communicated well and was especially helpful when I decided to leave a few days early. I really appreciated the hospitality and conversation and food. The park is very far from the city and is perfect as a resting place during your travels. Just make sure you have what you need when you go as getting money or food on your own won't be convenient.
The host canceled this reservation 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
What a wonderful place to escape the city! The adventure begins when Chiquitin meets you at the entrance to the park in a four wheel drive vehicle. You cross a river and through a bit of the park to get to his place. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. The first morning we left at 6am to walk to the sand dunes. We didn't see another person or vehicle. But we did see: a monkey, fox and many birds including the Greater Rhea (similar to Ostrich), burrowing owls and lots of toucanillos. Chiquitin lent us bird books to help us identify the many birds. We also enjoyed the chorus of insect sounds in the evenings. The cabin is very isolated but if you enjoy nature you will enjoy a stay with Chiquitin!
Chiquitin and Eveline made me feel very welcome.
They took care of me like their own family and gave me the privacy I needed.
The lodge and the sand dunes are the best place to relax and leave all your stress behind.
Evenline is an amazing cook and I advise everyone to enjoy her meals!
My experience at Chiquitin's home was nothing short of incredible. He was very communicative from the beginning and the most gracious/attentive host I've ever met. I was the first solo traveler Chiquitin had hosted, and I could tell this was new territory. However, he and Evelyn could not have handled it better. As soon as I arrived, he drove me and Evelyn's two beautiful, sweet children to the sand dunes where we went on a walk and got to know each other. He is very easy to talk to but also gave me the perfect amount of privacy. The property (including the private guest house and small tree house for bird watching) is gorgeous and Evelyn's food is out of this world! The best Bolivian food I've had to date! Oh, did I mention the animals??? 6 cats, 5 dogs... and they're all the sweetest. Two nights were spending drifting off in a hammock with a cat curled up while sleeping in my lap. It was heaven. Gracias, Chiquitin, for your hospitality. I hope we cross paths again soon.
