Independent, fully equipped one bedroom apartment in De Baarsjes, the up and coming neighborhood in the western part of town.
This aparment is situated in a quiet resedential street but with everything that makes Amsterdam such a wonderful place within arms reach. Trams to the city centre (approx 10 mins) leave a 2 minute walk from the apartment which is situated on the second floor, so plenty of daylight and a nice view of the street and adjacent square with mini football-pitch.
The apartment itself is basic, but with everything you need. Comfortable double bed, en suite bathroom and seperate toilet. The kitchen comes with a microwave/oven, stove and coffeemachine. No time for cooking? No worries. There are loads of options for good take away food or even better restaurants in walking distance.
The livingroom is equipped with a big table that seats 4 people and a cosy seating area with one couch that can be transformed into a second double bed.
Pieter van der Does is the ideal place for people who are looking for a decent but basic place to stay while they’re in one of the coolest cities on the planet.
NOTE: There are also two bikes available with the house that are free to use.
The apartment is close to a lot of tourist attractions. Everything is reachable by tram or by foot.

Check-in/ Check-out time is flexible
Have Fun :)
Robert-Jan welcomed us at the apartment in a friendly manner and was very flexible with the check-in and check-out times. Everything went smoothly.
The apartment is big and great for a couple, or ok for a couple plus a friend. Two couples would still be possible. The regular bed is nice. The extra pull-out sofa bed is ok, but as it is a sofa bed, not the most comfy bed. ;)
We went to Amsterdam during a couple of cold days. The apartment wasn't very warm, but it was ok and we got an additional electronic heater for the bedroom.
We are used to walk a lot, so we did and it takes you some time to get downtown on foot. We usually did not come back during the day, to make the most of our trip.
But using the tram, you get there very quickly in a couple of minutes. The tram connections are quite good.
You can cook in the kitchen, there are hotplates but there is no oven. If you wanna cook, you can get groceries pretty close, because there are supermarkets nearby.
We enjoyed our stay. :)
Very welcoming host. Constantly kept us informed. Great neighbourhood. Great public transport nearby. The bicycles were a welcome bonus. Marvellous. Thanks.
Casa accogliente e proprietario tranquillissimo e disponibile.
Sicuramente un buon posto dove dormire e soggiornare nella meravigliosa Amsterdam!
We had an excellent time in the apartment, great location. Easy to get to most of central Amsterdam and close to shops, bars and cafes. Apartment was small - would not recommend for more than 2 people, but for people like us who spent more time out doing things than lazing around it was fine. Robert-Jan was a very helpful host, responding very quickly when we had a question during our stay, and providing helpful information before our visit. For those who want to spend time exploring Amsterdam rather than relaxing at home, this is an ideal apartment.
Fomos muito bem recebidos pelo Robert-Jan, esteve sempre disponível para nos ajudar e esclarecer qualquer dúvida. Gostámos muito do apartamento, é muito confortável e acolhedor. Sentimo-nos em casa!
Robert-Jan was courteous and helpful. And his district is charming. It is not the most architecturally lovely quarter of Amsterdam, nor is it laced with many canals, but it is a fascinating melange of older, multi-ethnic residents and young artists who are transforming it into a bohemian colony. Robert-Jan offered good shopping, transport, cafe and restaurant advice and came up to adjust the heating when we found ourselves too cold. The apartment is indeed spacious, although rather angular. The kitchen is more than adequate and there is a large handsome dining table. We did miss the presence of books. There is a separate WC, and the only mirror is small and positioned within the shower, which makes ablutions and getting dressed a bit awkward. To reach the flat, one must mount precipitous stairs, but this is typical of Holland. All in all, a positive experience in an intriguing district not too far from the centrum, under the auspices of a gracious host.
