About This Listing
Lovely, spacious apartment full of character on the ground floor of an 18th century landowner's residence. Many of the original features of the former stable have been tastefully preserved and will add a touch of old Umbrian charm to a perfectly comfortable living space.
The flat is fully furnished and equipped so you can cook and do your laundry if you feel so inclined, or relax with a coffee or a glass of wine in the pleasant surroundings of the living area. On arrival you will find a complimentary bottle of wine to put you in the right mood. There are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower cubicle. A further single folding bed is also available on request.
The house is located in a secluded courtyard close to a Medieval fortified hamlet just off the main road to Assisi which is 3 km away. There is private parking in front of the house and the location is ideal to reach all the major historical and artistic sites in Umbria with day trips also possible to places of interest further afield such as Siena, Arezzo, Urbino, Rome and Florence either by car or by train using the regular services from the station at about 3 km away.
After a cancelled flight and several wrong turns from a misbehaving car navigator it was very late at night before we made it to this address. Thank goodness for mobile phones and hosts who stayed in contact (thank you Lisa and Mary), for despite being so late we were met by Renato, a most beautiful man and gracious host, and immediately felt at home.
His very good English made up for our very poor Italian, and patiently explained all we needed to know to make our stay perfectly relaxing.
The apartment is large, quaint and had all we needed, quiet and with parking on site. We loved the little extras, such as ubiquitous olive oil, spices and various teas/coffee etcetera. There is a restaurant at the end of the street (walking) and small grocery store in the nearby town (longer walk) but little else in close walking distance. Having a car we found the location perfect for visiting the nearby areas, including (and especially) Assisi, and driving through semi-rural towns while we re-learnt how to stay on the wrong side of the road, was easier.
This was the first AirBnB we have ever stayed in and if it is typical of what to expect, we are hooked.
Thank you for welcoming these silly old Australians and making our stay such an enjoyable experience.

Il soggiorno è stato piacevolissimo, l'appartamento è spazioso e in una posizione assolutamente strategica, vicinissimo ad Assisi, Perugia, Spello...Tutto come descritto. Consigliatissimo.
We had a great time exploring Umbria from your location. There was ample parking and a quiet location. Having two bedrooms was important to us and they were large. I think it would be nice to have wifi available. The host was very accommodating and helpful with recommendations. Thank you again for hosting us.
This is a great place to stay if you want to explore Assisi and wider Umbria. This ground floor apartment is excellent. The host welcomed us on our first day and left us a bottle of wine and fresh eggs but left us alone to get on with our holiday, which was important for us. However they gave us contactable phone numbers in case of emergency. I would recommend this property for anyone wishing to explore Assisi and Umbria by car. There is free car parking beside the house. Overall, I would highly recommend this property. Thank you Lisa for a memorable holiday.
We enjoyed staying in this apartment. We had a real feel of how it is like to live in Umbria. It is spacious, clean and kitchen well equipped. The apartment itself is very close to Perugia and Assisi. There is free parking just outside. Thank you for the delicious wine that the host left for us.
The flat was very nice and had everything we required. The location meant that it was very easy to travel up to Assisi for the sunset. Palazzo is close to the flat and has a good butcher, fruit and veg, deli and supermarket.
About the Host, Lisa
Hi! I'm a PhD student and a part time "flat renter". When I'm not trying to write up my work I love getting lost in Umbria's medieval towns or country side, enjoying eating out and drinking the wonderful wine that is produced here. So don't hesitate to get in touch for any advice on where to go out sightseeing or just indulging in a relaxing stay.
