About this listing
A very comfortable one bedroom, bright and wide apartment in the heart of Budapest, a real Home far away from Home. Safe, no CO danger, electric heating, insulated windows, with vintage furniture fits 2.
My lovely apartment has wooden parquet, viewing south - on the nicely renewed park and the food market -, full of light and very spacious (as told by Guests). Apartment has a nice fireplace painted silver (electric heating = no CO danger).
The hallway is partly RED, the ceiling of the living room is GOLD, the kitchen is YELLOW and the ceiling of bedroom is also YELLOW. This makes the apartment very unique, with superb day and night public transportation and quite neighbours.
Thanks to a refurbishment, the apartment is more welcoming.
Teleki Square consists of a green park and a food market. Fresh food for your breakfast is instantly available from the market.
WiFi is FREE.
The apt is located in down town Budapest, 8 minutes walk from both Blaha Sq. (Boscolo Hotel, New York *****) and Keleti (Eastern Railway Station) both has Red metro line station (Metro 2).
The Green line (Metro 4) is about 4 minutes walk at II. János Pál pápa tér (Pope John Paul II Square).
You can take a tram from Blaha to arrive to Teleki Sq. (just two stops).
There is food market (cheapest in Budapest) on Teleki Sq and a pharmacy, there are 4 supermarkets (a LIDL, a GRoby, a TESCO and a Halal) nearby and a sweets-shop (Jezsek). And there is a hairdresser and a florist around the corner.

I love that there are people and a buzz all day, but at 10PM the square is shut down. Quiet as a forest. You can sleep tight.
Public transportation is great. You can catch 3 trams and a bus, tube/metro/underground is either 4 or 8 minutes away.
Parking is either on the street (paying between 8am and 6pm).
I recommend you to take City Taxi (check on internet the prices - all taxi/cab has the same fee, but City Taxi has the best cars) to come to Red & Gold.
Other Things to Note
Teleki Square was refurbished recently, and you can walk in the park.
There are two other parks nearby:
- John Paul II Square
- National Graveyard on Fiume Road

Recommended ++. We liked staying at Tamas place. He is great host. warm attentive person, welcoming, friendly, positive, including useful tips for visiting Budapest. Flat is big bright and comfortable. you can cook full meals in kitchen. Good central location near tram & metro.
Tamas was very kind and welcoming. He showed us everything we needed to know and gave us tips about the community. I would recommend this place in the future, especially for budget-travelers.
Tamas, was very attentive and helpful. It was shown at all times ready to help us in our stay. The building is somewhat old, but comfortable enough to spend a few days.
The lofted bed in a room with no working window or fan made it a little hard to sleep in summer, but other than that, great place. Good value and we liked the location.
We had a great stay at this cosy and charming flat. It´s close to city centre, Keleti train station, tram and metro station. Tamas Banki is a very nice and caring landlord. It was a pleasure to be his guest. We definitely recommend a stay in this flat.
Nice apartment and great communication, but the area where the apartment is located is a little bit dodgy...
