I had such a wonderful stay at Yester Year. We got in late on the day of our arrival and Stace had the kitchen light and heat on with Christmas music playing in the background. Stace replied promptly to any questions or requests.
The property was charming, in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by Redwoods. The Russian River was a short walk away and made for a nice stroll around the neighborhood. I would def. stay in this property again!
YesterYear is adorable and in such a great location. Stace was easy to work with and everything was as expected. The walk to the river was nice with the dog. Like the other reviews say, it's not secluded, but it's not noisy. The furniture isn't the plushest, but the beds are reasonably comfortable, and there's plenty of room.
This place is as charming, cozy, clean and tidy as it looks. The beds are very comfortable, there are plenty of extra blankets for the cooler evenings and that beautiful, cozy fireplace in the living room, which by the way, has lots of games, puzzles and books. There was plenty of room for the four of us, and a small, but well stocked local market is a short drive down the road. This would be a great place if you travel with your pet, because the yard is completely fenced. There's room to park two cars in front of the cabin and two behind.
As one reviewer noted, there is a little street noise, but not much at all (we stayed Friday-Sunday), and it's a very minor trade-off for access to the locals-only beach area, which is a short walk down the street in back of the cabin, private and not crowded at all. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful.
A couple of FYIs: If you're an AT&T customer, you might want to bring your laptop so you can use the wireless, because our AT&T service did not work at the cabin. If you plan to cook your meals instead of eating out, bring spices. The fridge is on the smaller side and we filled it full with the food we brought for the weekend.
We had a very nice, relaxing weekend and would definitely like to come back.
When we reached home the door was unlocked, lights were on and there was music. We were expecting the key under the mat. I guess not a huge deal but for a second we were hesitant if we were at the right place. Then we saw the welcome message on the table with a bottle of wine. That was a good gesture.
However, unfortunately the toilet was not flushed, which was bad scene.
Besides the welcoming, everything was as expected and as seen in the listing. The sheets and the pillows were clean. Everything was ordered, tidy.
The location of the house is also very convenient. It is great to see the redwoods around you when you wake up. The neighborhood was very quite as well. Just as we expected.
Yester Year was perfect for our little river getaway from the city with friends. It's cute & cozy and has access to a gorgeous part of the river. Location is perfect. You are really tucked right in the redwoods. Loved the big kitchen and the sleeping porch. The house had all the basics you need. Stace was very easy to communicate and coordinate with. I'll be back!
Lovely cottage in the middle of the redwoods... Had a wonderful warm vibe, great amenities, lots of space and comfy beds!
Private beach was delightful... as was the walk to get there...
Stace was an absolute joy to work with! We will definitely rent from her again!
We enjoyed our stay, the place was nice and Stace had left a bottle of wine and the music playing for when we arrived.
The beach was close by and private.
