Paradise in Port, Lighthouse Beach

House - Private room · Daintree Lane, Port Macquarie, NSW 2444, Australia

The Space

Welcome to our little bit of paradise in a most beautiful part of the coast! Port Macquarie is a great destination in itself, but a PERFECT half-way stop between Sydney and Byron Bay/ Brisbane. To appreciate the beauty of Port Macquarie we suggest you have at least 2 nights so that you have a full day to explore the numerous sights.
We have a large, modern and artistically decorated house with a completely private, large, self-contained space on the lower level to offer. It would be perfect for a couple, but fine for 3 or 4 people . It is open plan with a queen bed and 1 single bed, and then we have a 6 inch foam mattress that can go on the floor...more comfy than a rollaway!
You have your own private ensuite and secure private entrance.
You will be welcomed with a complimentary drink too!
There is a kitchen nook, with a dining setting and you can even see the lighthouse while having a snack! The kitchen area has been newly and thoughtfully equipped so that you can prepare simple meals with a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Although we do not supply breakfast we will give you some bread for toasting with butter and spreads.
Linen and towels are provided.
Outside your room is a small area with plants and a seat, and for convenience, you park right at the door.
The bathroom is modern, and equipped with a hair dryer and basic toiletries.
There is a sofa as well and a TV/DVD player.
We have decorated the room in a fun, creative way with many artefacts from our varied travels and are sure you will be very comfortable.
Lighthouse Beach area offers great local cafes as well as a big supermarket within a 3-4 min drive. We are 2 minutes from the fantastic 10km coastal walk, which links the lighthouse with the town. You can drive to Lighthouse Beach in 2 mins or walk in 10mins through a lovely rainforest.
At our house we have an abundance of wildlife, with many birds and koalas that regularly visit our backyard. We even spot whales from our deck!
Just 5 km away is Port CBD, located at the mouth of the beautiful Hastings River, where you can find a huge amount of cafes, shops, a cinema and all other services that a large town offers. There is a bus service into town but we are happy to offer a pick up or drop off service at the airport or station for a small fee.
Port Macquarie is a fantastic destination, with many water sports, walks, wineries, great weekend markets, incredible beaches, whale watching tours, kayak tours, beach camel rides, Koala Hospital and Billabong animal zoo, beautiful drives and abundant tourist facilities....there is just so much to do!!
We are sure that you will enjoy our modern, comfortable little bit of paradise, surrounded by rainforest, in a secluded, unique part of Port Macquarie.

  • We had such an incredible time here! Christine and Kim are such amazing hosts and I wouldn't change a thing about our stay here. They are very generous and kind people and even invited us for a drink with them on our last night which was really lovely. Nothing was a problem for them, Christine even cooked our chicken for us on our first night and let us do some washing etc there. Christine had left out lots of useful info about the local area - where to eat, what to do etc. which was really helpful. It's a really beautiful house in a stunning location with the most lovely views. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The room was really big with everything we could have needed and more - all very clean and tidy and nicely decorated. We were made to feel so welcome, and they are such nice people, we couldn't have asked for more.

  • It was such a lovely stay at Christine's house. First of all Christine was very nice and helpful. Her place is full of brochures and maps so you really don't need to look for them somewhere else. Thank you, Christine, for thinking even about our son and preparing for him some toys! Secondly the Christine's place is very nicely situated, in a tranquil location with great coastal walks possibilities. The room is huge, well equipped and so independnt. There is everything you could even imagine! Unfortunately we didn't see any koalas but this means there is a good reason to show up again!

  • What a great place to stay. We were greeted by a very friendly host (Christine) with some very welcome refreshments (beer). The place is in a perfect location, just out of town. Very clean and tidy with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. We were very impressed with the place and would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended!!!!

  • We loved to stay in this beautiful house with warm hosts. Christine and Kym are very kind and warm people, they made us feel like home. They were very helpful giving directions to see the best spots in the surrounding. The beaches are very beautiful and one beach is only 5 min walk from the house. We did a RIB boat tour on the river and saw 4 dolphins and a small and big turtle. We really enjoyed the coastal walk from the house to the city centre, which takes you over 7 beautiful beaches. Almost all beaches have sub tropical rainforest next to it which makes it very beautiful, you don't notice you are close to a city which is amazing. The accommodation is very spacious, clean, nice bathroom and separated from the hosts so it feels like your own apartment which is great. The ocean view from the front door is beautiful, you can sit outside having a drink with a nice ocean view. We loved our stay here and wished it would have been longer than only two days. When we left we were invited by Christine and Kym for a 5 min coffee so we could see their amazing house and spectacular ocean views from their huge terrace. We had a very nice 1,5 hrs coffee, they are very interesting people and have a lot of stories to tell. Thanks again for having us as guests, we loved it, hopefully we will see you in Amsterdam in the near future.

  • My friends and I were travelling from Gold Coast and wanted to take the drive down to Sydney using the Pacific Highway and found this little paradise which was indeed a good escape and resting nest for us before continuing on our journey.
We reached there rather late at night and being new to driving in Australia, felt a bit panicked when the streets got dark, however, Kym came to our rescue and directed us and even helped park our car! :D
The room was very spacious and more than enough space for 3 people, with lovely decors and bright colours really lifted up our spirits!
the beaches were a short walk away and many restaurants and sightseeing along the lush grenery headed towards their place

both Christine and Kym were also very helpful giving us plenty of sightseeing ideas and maps to get around Port Macquarie.
Thanks again Christine and Kym for the lovely home you have.
    God bless you both!

it was indeed a memorable Aussie trip for us :)

  • The room was very spacious with good facilities and on arrival it was lovely to have a welcoming glass of wine/beer.

The accommodation is within a 15 minute walk to the secluded sandy and rocky Miners beach and peace and tranquility and a short drive to Lighthouse beach.

Christine and Kym had a great knowledge of the area which helped us find all we needed. They are a very friendly and delightful couple and we enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely return.

Christine is such a friendly and an excellent host. Loved the location of the property. Will definitely stay there again if I plan to travel to Gold coast.

About
I am a newly retired "youngish" teacher and so is my hubbie Kym. We have two wonderful children who live elsewhere in Australia. We live in the best part of Australia, the mid north coast of NSW, right near the beach....in fact just a few minutes walk away from 2 gorgeous beaches. We are adventurous and keen on keeping fit. We enjoy volunteering and spending time with family and friends. We love to travel, explore the world and other cultures. We enjoy great coffee, good food and wine. We also love reading, music, movies and the arts. And of course we love meeting new people!
