Interaction with Guests
My interaction with you as my guest is completely up to you. I try to meet as many of the guest I have as possible. I love meeting new people from different places so hopefully I can meet you too. However if you want to be on your own and just get the keys and go that is fine too. I understand this is your trip to do what you want to.
I really have only one rule. Please no smoking in the house.
As far as anything else goes feel free to use anything in the house. Anything in the fridge or pantry is all free game. If there is ever a question you may have about anything please feel free to contact me and I will make sure I can answer it as fast as I can. Hope you enjoy staying with me and look forward to helping with any problem or concern that may come up.
Kelly, left us some NOLA tour information and maps. He also left us his contact information in case a need arose. He also offered to clean the grill and deck so that we could have a BBQ. We did not get a chance to meet Kelly but seems to be a very nice person.
The apartment was as described. The neighborhood was quiet and safe; we had no issue parking in front of house.
The bathroom is clean but needs to be updated.
The host and the apartment were great. Kelly was very easy to reach during our stay, and left the apartment filled with tour brochures, maps, and guidebooks to New Orleans. The apartment was in a wonderful location, spacious, and clean. We really couldn't ask for a better airbnb experience!
Host was great, friendly, very attentive and reachable during our stay. Neighborhood was great. We hit that darn cold spell, but a little creative engineering to block off the open kitchen doorway with a sheet kept the rooms we used the most warm enough to be comfortable. All and all, it was wonderful to have our own private house and it was comfortable.
Had a nice time staying here. Pretty good location close to the streetcar. Quiet area at night. The apartment is a little old and it shows but its also very big and Kelly left if fully stocked with drinks and basic food. Even though it was chilly (got down into the mid to upper 40s at night) when we were there the apartment was nice and warm. Would recommend.
Another good visit to Kelly's Shotgun apartment. The location was great - in a quiet neighborhood in the Uptown area with easy free street parking. Met a few neighbors and they were super friendly folks. Accessible to public transportation - streetcar/bus to get you downtown easily. Spacious apartment, full kitchen, good wifi - fit our needs for the week as a couple visiting our son at college. Kelly is responsive to questions very quickly as well.
The shotgun was great and very large. Close to shops and the street car. There was a huge tv and plenty of tea/coffee/what have you. It felt very home-y.
Unfortunately New Orleans was having an unseasonably intense cold snap while we were there, and we decided to leave a day early because the apartment was frigid (I think this is a feature of all housing here - most homes don't need much insulation due to the heat for most of the year.) I do have to say that Kelly gave us plenty of blankets and heaters. Sadly the weather was just too much for us!
Unfortunately, though the host did agree to refund a full night (as opposed to the 50% I would have gotten had I cancelled directly through airbnb), I have yet to receive the check. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope I see a check in the mail soon, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth. I guess it is a life lesson to do everything by the book in the future.
That said, in every other respect he was very attentive and the apartment itself was nice. Anyone staying here will have a good base to see the city from!
I am from the Jersey Shore originally. I live and work in New Orleans. I am a bar manager at a popular bar in the heart of the French quarter. I like movies and watching tv as well as traveling as much as I can.
