The space
FYI: During the summer months, daytime and evening temperatures on the main level of the home typically range between 70°–72°F, while the basement remains naturally cool year-round. We provide tower fans and space heaters in each bedroom so you can adjust your comfort as needed.

To help the home stay comfortable, please leave the thermostat set to Cool during your stay, even if you’re away for a few hours. Keeping the system running allows air to circulate throughout the home, maintain more consistent temperatures between levels, and reduce indoor humidity. Turning the system off or switching it to another mode can make it much more difficult for the home to cool back down, especially during the summer months.

Please also avoid leaving exterior doors open unnecessarily, as warm, humid air entering the home makes it harder for the HVAC system to maintain a comfortable temperature.

For the best refrigerator performance, please avoid overfilling it with food and beverages. Refrigerators rely on airflow to keep everything evenly cooled, so tightly packing shelves can block circulation and prevent items from reaching the proper temperature. Leaving a little space between items allows the refrigerator to cool more efficiently and helps keep your food and drinks cold throughout your stay.

If you need additional cold storage, you’ll find a large mini refrigerator in the basement bunk room that you’re welcome to use. We’re also happy to provide a large cooler with ice if your group has extra food or drinks. Just let us know—we’re always glad to help make your stay as comfortable as possible!
