About this listing
A lovely clean, bright, single room in a friendly house, this room would suit for either a short term visit or we are happy to have longer term guests as well
A lovely bright clean single room, in a friendly Dublin house. This room would suit somebody looking for either a short term or long term let. The house is a 1930's period property and would be fairly typical of the type of house that a lot of Irish people live in. I work from home a lot, so will be here to help you out with any questions you might have. You will have total freedom of the house, and will have a front door key so you can come and go as you want, and when you are not out exploring the city you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook in, or the sitting room to curl up by the open fire, with our old dog and slightly mad cat, and a good book, or watch some telly or avail of the Wifi. If the weather is good you can sit out in the very private garden and even have a BBQ if you like. Located about 4 km from the city centre, in a quiet residential area, which has a late night Supermarket, Post Office, Chemist, and Parks on the doorstep, and a selection of Pubs and Restaurants about 15 mins away. Or if you want to pop in to the city the bus stops at the end of our little cul de sac and will have your there in about 25 mins. The room itself is really nice , it has lots of little extras like a kettle , tea, coffee and biscuits if you fancy a late night smack , maps of the area so you won't get lost , practical things like an electric blanket to keep you cosy, towels and extra bedding . Breakfast is included in the price , I provide a selection of items i.e. brown bread, eggs, yogurt, honey, cheese, butter ,tea, coffee, fruit, etc and you are welcome to cook it at anytime that suits you . I am happy to do either short term or long term just let me know what suits. ....Just to let you know my house is a normal Dublin house, it is not a hotel or hostel, but I do try really hard to help you feel at home here, and to give you as much info as you need to get about Dublin and Ireland if you want to go further, So I look forward to your visit ...And really you will not get better value anywhere else ...GREAT VALUE !!!!

There are lots of buses from my road to the city center approx 25 mins and also across the city if needed
No smoking in the house please, you can smoke in the garden, clean your dishes after you use them and just keep things tidy .....thank you
A very nice home with great bus access to the city center. Barbara was a wonderful host who gave great advice on sightseeing and made sure I had the proper transportation to connect for the next leg of my journey. Highly recommnend.
This was my first visit to Dublin and staying at Barbara's place made it extra special. I received a warm welcome upon arrival and met the lovely students who were also staying at the house. Barbara's home was warm and inviting and very clean. It felt like a home away from home with all the comforts and amenities. Sharing a bathroom with the girls proved to be a non issue and everyone was very respectful. As a woman who travels alone, I felt very safe staying in this and coming home late. I was able to use the fridge, pantry and kitchen to heat up my meals and this allowed me to pack a lunch to go daily and heat up my dinner at night which was so very convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Barbara and her guests. Barbara was warm and open yet also also respected my privacy which I greatly appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Hostess was kind and accommodating. House was cozy and warm. Centrally located
From the first minute I felt very welcome and like home.Barbara was wonderful! I stayed 6 weeks and in the end I was quite sad that I hab to leave. She provided everything I needed and I could always ask her if I had a question. It was great to stay with her. If I ever come back I will stay there again.
I had a great time. I was welcomed right when I arrived. Barbara's daughter, Laura, was really helpful. She helped me bring up my suite cases to the room and offered me tea. The room was perfect and the location was great.
I didn't have chance to stay there due to the late flight, but my friend who spent 2 nights in Barbara's house said that place is lovely.

About the Host, Barbara
Hi I'm Barbara, and I am a great fan of AIRBNB , I first used it myself to find accommodation in Brooklyn a while ago, and it was such a good experience I decided to become a host, and now I am a total convert. I have been letting out a room on either a long or short term basis for many years , but just love the Airbnb way of doing things. My favorite things are travel and anything art/design/craft related, My background is as a theatre designer, but these days I run a small home based business making hand made craft kits for kids,.........Planet Purple Kids.........I love meeting new people from different parts of the world, and would like you to feel at home here. ....If you are new to airbnb and maybe a bit nervous, go on try it , really it is so much better than any standard bnb or hostel
