Tucked back off the street in a fenced garden courtyard, this 600 sq ft cottage (built in 2003) is very open and bright with vaulted ceilings and window views of the sky and garden. It's attached to the old house through a shared laundry room which is normally locked. Clean and hypoallergenic, it has radiant heat in the tile floors and minimal scents. Stay cool in the summer with the super quiet, mini-split air conditioner. There are limited cooking facilities: microwave, coffeemaker, toaster oven, mini-fridge, toaster, electric kettle, double burner hot plate, electric griddle, blender, kitchen sink, dining table, dishes, etc. Enjoy HDTV, xfinity cable, blu ray/dvd player, and wifi. You'll have a work desk, vanity and dresser, lots of storage and fresh linens, a large walk-in shower, a separate powder room, and a private patio with table and chairs (small charcoal grill available). Smoking is permitted on the private patio only. Sleeps 2 adults+1 child with a king bed (memory foam) and a twin air mattress.
Park on the street in front of the house and enter through the side gate into the rear courtyard. If you want to do laundry, text or email me and I'll unlock your interior door to the laundry room.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the old part of the house and park in the back alley garage. You'll have lots of privacy, but we may see each other coming and going. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
This laid-back residential neighborhood of 1950's bungalows is close to the city, but peaceful and quiet like a small town. It has wide streets, minimal traffic, and plenty of free easy parking.
The drive from the airport takes about 45 minutes, unless you hit heavy traffic.
Getting around is easiest by car, but you can walk 15 minutes to groceries, restaurants, and buses. We've got park and ride lots at Floyd and Broadway (for the bus) and further west on Floyd at the Englewood light rail station. See guidebook for a marked map (zoom in for bus stops). For more public transit info, check the RTD website.
Other Things to Note
When you request a reservation, I need the full names of all guests. If you have visitors, email me their full names through the airbnb website. Unregistered visitors/guests are not permitted. This is a quiet, watchful, residential neighborhood and I want to keep the people flow to a minimum.
Occupancy is limited to 2 adults plus 1 child. No pets. Smoking on the private patio only. All guests and visitors must be registered. No more than 4 adults on the premises, including occupants and visitors. No more than 2 cars in front of the house. No illegal activities. (Cannabis users are welcome, but must abide by state laws. No prostitution.) Close and lock windows when you go out.
Had a phenomenal time staying at Nancy's! She was super nice and answered all my random questions promptly! :) Our first time using air bnb. We were in Denver for a ballet competition and there weren't a ton of hotels that were close to the Newman center. Nancy's place was a mile down the road! Heated floors, and the bed was so comfy! Loved that I could actually head to the grocery store and have a fridge that wasn't full with over priced mini bar crap! If we ever end up in Denver again...I will be contacting Nancy for sure!
Nancy was a fabulous host! The private cottage was perfect for our stay, it had everything we needed and then some. We appreciated the soft bed, the cable TV, fast WiFi, and the privacy of the place. The shower is awesome! The location in Englewood is beautiful, and there were plenty of food options and grocery stores nearby. My partner and I had a great experience and highly recommend!
Had a great stay, nice quiet private clean place, all the small amenities thought of. Very comfortable, would stay again.
Nancy was a great host, she made us feel very welcomed! The space was even better than the photos.
My stay at Nancy's was just perfect. Great location, super clean, fast internet, amazing bed that was I super sad to leave, with amenities that were elegant and simple to use. I would love to stay here again in the future. I highly recommend it as a lovely retreat. Very appropriate for a short or long-term stay.
My husband and I loved our two night stay in Nancy's cottage! It was a clean, cozy space (heated floors!) with Nancy providing all we needed for an extremely comfortable stay. She is warm and welcoming and goes above and beyond for her guests. Highly recommend this host :)
Nancy's place is really nice, quiet and clean. My girlfriend and I just loved it. Nancy was just lovely with us, though we met her only a few times. Englewood is really a nice area with plenty of restaurants around and a short drive to downtown Denver. We recommend her place. Nancy will probably see us again in a year or so.
I've been in Colorado for 25 years, originally from the east coast. I've worked as a professor, singer, and preschool teacher. I love the sunshine and the laid-back lifestyle in Colorado. I'm happy to share my little oasis on the edge of the city with the airbnb community.
