Near the city but without the noise, 10 minutes from Avignon and 20 minutes from “Pont du Gard” away, in the heart of Provence the “Lou Souvadou” is a small piece of heaven for those who stay there.
Sauveterre is a charming, provencal village far from the city noise. You stay in an old Provencal farmhouse equipped with all modern conveniences, a beautiful pool and a stunning view over the Rhone Valley, “Mount Ventoux” and the “Dentelles de Montmirail”.
This B&B offers 2 individual rooms with private bathrooms, plus a small room without bathroom for children (wc to share), and also a 4* reception by Françoise and Michel.
You’ll perfectly be situated to visit the vineyards of the Rhone Valley and the famous wineries of Châteauneuf du Pape or Tavel. The summer shows of the “Avignon Festival” and “Orange’s Choregies” are close too. You’ll be able to admire the wonderful sites of the “Baux de Provence”, Saint Rémy de Provence, Arles, Nîmes, the Luberon villages, etc… But also to visit the picturesque markets or just relax in the sun besides the pool sipping a cocktail or glass of vine while preparing the itineraries with our hotes.
You’ll have the pleasure of enjoying your copious breakfast while listening to the cicadas in summer and breathing in the exceptional perfumes of the flowers in the garden.
The area is well served by the T.G.V. (in Avignon) or by the airports (Marseille, Nîmes, Avignon, Montpellier,…) Of course it helps to have a car (Rental at the airport and train stations).
The only concern with the “Lou Souvadou” is that, when you come one time, it is hard to leave.
Our stay here was wonderful! The house was comfortable and provided a nice retreat from a busy day of exploring the region. The meals that Michel & Françoise prepared for us was excellent, and truly made the experience memorable. The pictures don't even do it justice, the house and view are just incredible, and an amazing way to start and end the days there.
This was the highlight of our trip in the Provence area. The house is spectacular, the view is exceptional and the hosts (Francois and Michelle) were fantastic.
Located about a 10 min drive from Avignon and roughly 30-60 min scenic drive to all the amazing towns and cities in the area. Also very close to awesome wineries.
We ended up eating in every night because Francois and Michelle offered an amazing selection of super tasty local food.
I fully recommend this B&B to all.
This was the best part of our 2 week trip to France!! Michel & Françoise were wonderful, welcoming and fun hosts. The house, the view, the yards are beautiful. The breakfast they provided each morning was delicious and we ate dinner here twice... Michel's cooking is fantastic!! The Canard (duck), salmon, pasta bolognese, salads, bread and wine were the best meals we had in all of France... better than anything in Paris. I highly recommend staying here - it's only a short 20 minute drive from Avignon and very easy to get to. You do need a car to get around. I can't wait to return.
Mas Lou Souvadou is a wonderful quiet place. The house is cosy and surrounded by a huge garden with a pool which invites to relax. And not only that, Francoise and Michel are very very friendly hosts who always cared to make us feel comfortable. We can especially recommend to enjoy dinner on the terrace with a bottle of rosé wine from Provence. We definetely recommend that place-you will have a wondeful time!
A very kind and helpful family in a beautiful place
Francoise and Michel were the most delightful hosts; incredibly warm, helpful, fun, generous and genuine. The house, grounds and surrounds of Mas Lou souvadou were stunning and this house is beautifully positioned for day visits to many gorgeous villages and historical attractions. Not only was a delicious breakfast included but, for an additional 10 euro per person, also a fabulous dinner which we took advantage of every night of our stay.
We rate this BnB 10/10! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay Michel and Francoise! Our family of 4 can't wait to go back!!
We had a wonderful time in Mas Lou Souvadou. Françoise and Michel were really great hosts. We felt very confortable and the place is very beautiful, quiet and at a convenient driving distance from Avignon. The breakfast was amazing! We greatly recommend it.
Francoise was a perfect host. Particularly when you consider that her husband ( who's command of the English language is apparently better developed than Francoise's is) was away on holidays in Japan at the time of our stay. She was great, and our attempts at communicating were always fun. I hasten to add that we speak very little French. Francoise's was very generous with offering us wine out on the terrace in the afternoons, and her omelettes at breakfast time were a real treat.
The big bathroom was very good as well, as we've spent the past 6 weeks travelling through Italy and on occasions the bathrooms were too small to swing a cat in.
If we return to Provence ( and I hope we do) weI would come back to their house and the beautiful village of Sauveterre in the drop of a hat.
Goed ontbijt. Echt een aanrader om te verblijven!
Great location! Beautiful house, great view, great place to relax, great hosts. Situated between Avignon, Orange and Chateauneuf du Pape. You need a car. A lovely place!
This was my family's first time in Provence and we chose to stay at Mas-Lou Souvadou because it can accommodate all five of us comfortably and it's also not too far away from Avignon TGV.
The house was a very nice French country home with spectacular view. The village was calm and we enjoyed driving to the nearby towns like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Orange, and others.
The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. They were concerned about our needs and gave good restaurant recommendations, which we were very happy about. They also helped with making reservations.
We wanted to go to the local market to buy produce and meat to cook, and they allowed us to used their kitchen, so we shared our cuisine with them. They were also generous in sharing their food and wine with us.
I highly recommend this place for a group of 5 people!
Oh, and their dogs (both Boxers) are so sweet and friendly, too!
