Located on the edge of Roosevelt National Forest, this mountain home features spectacular views and access to a variety of outdoor adventures. Over a thousand rock climbing routes, numerous mountain bike and hiking trails, and Boulder's signature dining and nightlife are all within just a few miles of this location.
After a day playing in Boulder, or in the wild, come relax in the hot tub with a view over a gorgeous gully and Flagstaff Mountain. Wildlife visits are fun and frequent. I've had the privilege to witness numerous deer, bears, eagles, hummingbirds, and even a lynx nearby. Keep your eyes peeled and there is a decent chance you'll have a wildlife memory of your own!
The home features the following amenities:
• Phone service
• Cell service via microcell for AT&T customers
• Hot Tub
• Spacious, double headed shower and dual wash basins in bathroom
• Kitchen with gas range and everything needed to prepare meals (Groceries not included, but can be arranged)
• Large gas grill provided for outdoor cooking
• Office space with printer
• Bus stop with service to Boulder and Nederland is just 1/4 mile away
• Breakfast: coffee, bread for toast, eggs, and oatmeal will be available in the kitchen for you to prepare at your convenience
Single Queen bedroom accommodates 2 people easily with room for 4 to expand on couches or provided air mattresses.
Property owner may be present in an attached apartment (with separate entrance) and will be available to assist with any of your needs.
A FEW IMPORTANT NOTES:
• There is no cell service in canyon. Please make sure you are clear on directions before you make the last little bit of the trip. If you are on AT&T I can add you to my microcell so your phone will work at the house.
• This is a mountain home on steep terrain. It's gorgeous, but please watch your step!
NOTES FOR COLD WEATHER GUESTS:
• The house is located on a steep mountain road. I drive a small front-wheel drive car and get along fine, but chains or snow tires are required if there is snow.
• The home is heated primarily by wood stove. Supplemental heat will be provided, but it does get cool inside during the winter. Bring some extra layers if you'll be staying in cool weather.

Josh was a fabulous host! Made sure to contact me prior to arrival to see if there wasn't anything I needed. Josh is friendly, and completely easy to communicate with. This house is a dream come true! Very private, comfortable, spacious and the views are breathtaking! The hot tub is situated on the hillside over looking the canyon... and at night the stars are spectacular! You don't want to miss out on this house! One day this charming young man is going to marry and we will all be out of luck on this gem in Nederland! Get it while it lasts! I know I will! Thank you Josh for the best vacation place ever!
Nice mountain home with a babbling brook that is very relaxing to listen to. Very neat home, several levels and stairs to climb both inside and outside the house, very unique. Clean, hospitable, and good views.
We loved staying at Josh's gorgeous mountain house. Josh is very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The house is in a great location, close to downtown boulder but far enough away to enjoy the quiet mountain side. We highly recommend staying here!
We have had a wonderful week at Josh's home and I'm still missing the place. The location was perfect because it felt like you had your own private valley, but you're only minutes from Boulder. Josh was very attentive and helpful, checking in from time to time, but otherwise letting us do our thing. Loved the AirPlay music that fills the home, the hot tub and cozy winter vacation. Great memories and a great home and great host. So to sum up... Great.
A must if you are staying in the Boulder area looking for a quiet mountain escape. Josh has definitely set-up an amazing house, and everything was well in order for us upon arrival. Fireplace, incredible interior architecture, huge bathroom, equipped kitchen, airplay throughout the house, board games, and a hot tub that overlooks a beautiful ravine. Couldn't have asked for a better situation, would highly recommend this place.
This mountain retreat was just gorgeous! Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the back porch and hot tub. We would come back here for sure! We were only able to stay one short night, but waking up to the beautiful scenery of the snow on the trees was incredible.
Completely agree with other reviewers, as amazing as it (website hidden) downsides/issues.
It was pretty cold when we were there and wood stove/heater did fine keeping the bedroom warm Also, for those that worry about hot tub temp, goes to 105ish and is great. Again, great place in every way.
Josh was wonderful leading up to the trip, offering quick and helpful insight and advice after the devastating flooding jeopardized our trip. It was a great place-- out of the way but not TOO far out of the way, large and cozy.
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best place to stay in the Boulder/Denver area. The house has a resort-y feel to it, and the photos don't even begin to do justice to the beautiful sunsets and sunrises we saw out of those enormous windows. We luxuriated in the scenic hot tub with glasses of champagne in the evening, awoke to the swaying trees outside the lofted bedroom, and had our morning coffee overlooking a dew-coated landscape. Oh - and we rocked out to our favorite jams on the incredible sound system that resounds throughout the house! Joshua has created an oasis and I could not recommend it more highly.
We visited during the terrible flooding that has impacted Colorado, and Joshua was extremely communicative with me before, during, and even after my visit so that we knew exactly what impacts to expect. Because the direct 4 mile road to Boulder was closed, Joshua was very understanding about the inconveniences that might pose for our visit and offered to be flexible regarding cancellation. We are always up for an adventure, so we came anyway and are SO GLAD we did. We got to drive on incredible mountain roads and Joshua made check-in and check-out completely seamless, even though he himself was staying elsewhere at the time. A few recommendations (aside from STAY HERE): Until the roads are cleared from flooding damage, please be aware that you will need to drive on winding dirt roads in the mountains where your GPS may not work and it takes more time than usual to get to/from major hubs. I also second the consideration of another guest about those with mobility issues - the house is "vertically oriented" and could pose an issue for anyone with issues climbing stairs/slopes.
On the whole, our stay here was our favorite part of our trip to Colorado!
Josh's place is amazing! Close to Boulder, scenic views, a cozy modern home, we couldn't have asked for more! We hope to visit again next year and would book Josh's place again in a heartbeat.
