Lauren's apartment was great for our long weekend in Brooklyn. The location is only a 5 minutes walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and the park. Its was perfect for us to attend events in Brooklyn and meet up with friends in Manhattan. The apartment is exactly as described. It is a basement unit but the street is very quiet so noise wasn't really an issue. We were also in town when it was in the 80's and the apartment was such a cool relief! It was simple wonderful. We didn't get to meet Lauren in person but she was always in contact if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again.
When I checked into Lauren's apartment I wasn't sure what to expect. She seemed mentally ill based upon her photo. After the few days I spent there I can now say the experience was the greatest thing that has every happened to me. Everything is different now, and I think of my life in two phases: Before I stayed at Cozy! Fireplace! 2.5 minutes 2 Manhattan! and after I stayed at Cozy! Fireplace! 2.5 minutes 2 Manhattan!
Lauren is a great host. Thorough follow up on my arrival and periodically checked in to see how things were going. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Wonderful neighborhood in Brooklyn. Quiet and safe. Perfect location to 2 subway stops which made it very easy to travel into the city and around Brooklyn as well. Close to a beautiful park, shops and restaurants and right by the Brooklyn Bridge. I will definitely stay here again.
The location in Brooklyn was fantastic. It is right next to a subway station which is one stop away from Manhattan, as well as the Brooklyn bridge. Lauren was fantastic to deal with - I messaged her a few times and she responded very quickly every time. It was quite spacious for two people, and we thought the place was quite cute.
We used a space heater to heat the place as the landlord controlled the radiator and had not turned it off. Wasn't an issue though as the space heater did a good job. There were ants by the door and on the floor in the main room, but by the last day we didn't see any more. I think this was a new temporary problem as no other reviews mentioned it and Lauren didn't know about the issue. Pretty sure it will get solved quickly. The noise on the street was loud in the later morning, but not an issue if you don't want to sleep in.
Overall a good experience. We really enjoyed our time at Lauren's place!
Lauren was a great host. Even though she wasn't around to greet us she was always quick to answer messages. The apartment is great. For anyone with a car, parking is super easy and free! We parked right across the street and left the car there all weekend. The neighborhood is very safe. I recommend taking a walk around the area and checking out the incredible view. Getting across the Brooklyn bridge on foot takes about 15mins. Same amount of time on the subway. Both are easily accessible from the apartment. Check-in/check-out was a breeze. I'd stay at Lauren's apartment again in a heartbeat!
This is a great apartment for a visit to NYC. My boyfriend and I stayed a few nights and it was very comfortable, with easy access to multiple subway stops and sights in Brooklyn. You can easily get anywhere in the city from this location. Lauren was a great host, very easy to communicate with and always accessible for questions throughout out stay.
